Please get rid of the artificial needs depletion that enforce a 8am-10pm lifestyle for our Zois.

I forget when it was added, I want to say in 0.4.0 but I’m no longer sure.

Basically I’ve been playing InZOI since April, and I have never. ever. had any problem with my Zois (plural) routine. At least those in the families I managed (mostly my own, but I checked others every now and then).
That includes the time back when every zoi were hungry, sleep deprived, and had toilets needs that rivals the feeling of exiting a theater after a 3.5 hour movie.

Thing is, these needs bar used to deplete at the same stable rate over time, eating a fulfilling meal at 7am would easily last you until 5-6pm (as far as I remember).
Zois weren’t trying to wake up every 30-60min before 11pm and after 8am and so on. They acted on their slowly depleting needs bar and that was it.

Sure, that meant you had some zoi with a messed-up cycle… but that’s fine as we have these people in real life too. I am an night owl (well almost).
My sleep schedule is 4am-Noon and has been since I was 16-ish years old. Let them be. It adds to the game that not every zoi is part of that perfect society where everyone wakes up at 6-7am, have breakfast, then diner, then supper, then go to bed around 9-to-11pm.

There was a recent post made by fellow players about the night club closing too early, I mean if every zoi have hardcoded in their bones that they must go home to sleep at midnight, then there’s no point to have the night clubs open to 3am now is there ? And this enforcement of the artificial life style came up.

Now I’m being very diplomatic here, but I am NOT happy about that change, and I’ll not elaborate more (and believe me, I could).

Please consider to either make it an option in the menu (call it idealistic lifestyles) which we can toggle on or off, or simply revert the change so we have zois of all hours and nightclubs and maybe other night activities that aren’t all on the 9-18 daytime cycles.

Thank you.

I completely agree with you. I personally find it strange that my character wakes up at 7 a.m. even on his day off from work. I tried to put him to bed again and again, but he wakes up. It’s incredibly annoying.:frowning:

I really hope they will. I have a lot of fun playing night owl zois because I’m also a night owl. Plus, I like it when my family zois are up half the night taking care of the babies and need extra sleep in the morning. They should be able to take shifts.

From another thread where a lot of players (not just me) complained of their Zois eating/washing/bathroom even if they did not need to :

We’ve reviewed this report and the behavior is part of the morning routine system — certain actions are scheduled to occur at specific times, which is why the Zoi performed the action even though the need was already full.

That said, we understand that it may feel a bit unnatural, and we plan to improve this behavior in the future.

Since this is not a bug, I’ll go ahead and close this thread for now.
If you have any suggestions for how this could be improved, please feel free to share them in the Wishlist category.

Thanks for your feedback! :thankyou:

So it would appear this “Morning Routine”, and probably the other routines are to blame for thee enforcement of the artificial many things. Another good reason to remove that.

Please restore gameplay to what it was, remove these routines or make them optional in the menu.
Let us play with zois of different internal clocks like it was before, it was far more fun and beside the occasional dead tired/hungry zoi, it worked really well and felt far more natural. Thank you.

Any update on this please?
Playing a new game right now and fighting with these routines already and only have 3 zois in my family.

  • They eat when when not hungry
  • They bathe (sometimes with non-cancellable action bug) when not dirty
  • They use the bathroom even though their needs are okay
  • They refuse to sleep late (many reports about sleeping, even “keep sleeping” fails)
  • They refuse to go to bed early (waking up multiple times before 11pm)
  • It creates artificial needs depletion to enforce a “proper” supper time, or diner or breakfast.

It is annoying - “why are you eating again you idiot!?"
It is immersion breaking
It is patronizing (game tells US how to play and not the other way around)
It prevents Zois having different biological clock (Early bird, nocturnal, or regular day cycle)
It breaks the flow of the needs, you’re okay and it looks like you’ll be okay for 5 hours, but then noon approaches and suddenly you’re hungry out of nowhere.

Nobody I talk to likes this/these changes.
So bumping this suggestion again in the hopes that it will get the attention it deserves.
We don’t need the game to be annoying… We need it to return to it’s smoothness so we don’t fight our zois.

Please fix it ASAP,
Thank you.

I posted this on Discord last time (mentioned I’d figure out how to word it and put it out during prime time), again, without canceling/copying anything, utilizing all their groundwork, but in a more smart (optional) form.

This looks good. Very good.

But I hope I can “go analog” and disable everything, all the time… Then manage my family myself.
I mean I want my zoi to water plants, play their fav instrument and clean the floor… of course.
But I want those to be random… I dont need them to be at 9am or 11:15am every day.

In short, if the need bars are untempered with, and decays at a steady rate (except when doing actions which depletes them), and the zois auto-react to them when they get in yellow, with more priority in red, that’s enough for me.

I don’t need routines (except if I would turn some on in your idea) playing my zois for me.
To be clear, I dont want the routine fixed… I want them GONE.
But since some ppl may like them, as usual, just having a menu option would solve this.

Really love your idea though, I could see myself putting SOME things on at specific times (like going to bed at “X” depending on Zoi, and other small things). That would be best of both worlds, provided NO ARTIFICIAL NEED DECAY/TEMPERING.

Having an option sounds ideal to me too.

@Samuriko

Idk about you guys, but I’ve dropped a couple of posts into the actual brainstorms. We need a short, clear idea to tackle the problem, or a few, and the quicker Kjun flags them in the response, the better. I don’t see this in the Wishlists, it’s clearly just tweaks to the existing systems.

i’ve stopped playing because of these ongoing unfixed issues. they put out posts that say “focusing on the basics!” then ignore the most basic things, while trying to implement multiplayer. its very frustrating that they claim to be focusing on core things, then completely ignore them while they announce something like multiplayer. i guess with multiplayer me and a friend can build a lot with at least 3 bathrooms since our zoi’s will still be beelining to them every 5 seconds in-between putting out meals they don’t eat. maybe they can eat them later when they wake up after i sent them to bed before 11pm since zoi’s have this ridiculous enforced artificial cycle now. ahhhhhh what are you guys doing?!

I wish I could upvote this more than once. Well said.

Upvote for taking the time to put together a summary list and posting in the brainstorm acting more constructively, with enough diplomacy. Well done!

Heh, well… Hopefully it gets read.
Had to do it in 2 posts because of the 2000 character limit per post in Discord.
I figured I would, and hope for the best. Still waiting on things I asked since June 2025.
Not a good track record, but still hoping.

You can also duplicate it here in the Brainstorm with Kjun section. Your suggestions on the slim UI here and there were included in the roadmap, though, apart from you, I don’t remember anyone else writing. There’s no 2000‑character limit here, so it’s up to you. At least you’ll be sure you did what you could, and if the UI reached Kjun last time, then this one will too.

There should be more randomness to schedules, just like in update 4.0 where unplayed Zois could be found roaming the streets and visiting lots whenever. I really wish the way Zois visited lots would be rolled back to how it worked in 0.4.0. I don’t care to interact with game generated NPCs, and it seems if I don’t visit lots on a particular schedule, they are the only ones I ever see. Perhaps a way for the game to randomize the appearance of 1-3 player made Zois (if available) on a lot that a player controlled Zoi visits would be an ideal fix. Something like this:

  1. World has 3 player made families.

  2. A currently player-controlled Zoi visits the beach.

  3. The moment the player-controlled Zoi visits the beach, 1-2 player-made but not currently controlled Zois from families #2 and #3 have their schedules automatically changed to ‘Visit the Beach’ at the same time.

  4. The Zois with schedules auto-changed will then also spawn on the Beach lot. The rest of the Zois on the lot are game-generated NPCs.

  5. If the player-controlled Zoi visits the Nightclub some hours later, the game should auto-adjust the schedules of 1-2 random player-made Zois again so they visit the Nightclub too. And so on.

Still happening as of Patch 0.6.0 (February 23rd 2026).

I have a family of 8 and they waste hundred of mew (in-game money) DAILY, cooking new meals, and eating stuff when full.

FIX IT, please. At least add a check in the routine that if the need is already taken care of, SKIP IT.
This is one of the worst annoyances of the game as of now. I’d say BUG but devs don’t agree.
Again, please fix it… and not in 6 months !

Message posted in the Kjun thread, if anyone wants to support it !

I loathe not being able to sleep when I want.

Watching Sleep shoot into red just because it’s after 11pm and they are still taking care of things or in the middle of the ocean scuba diving and all of the sudden red sleep and energy way too fast when it doesn’t drop that fast in the daytime when the non-nocturnal are doing stuff.

Not eating what they cook when they decide to cook a group meal on their own and not eat it so they cook another one and not eat it. They should be taking out already prepared meals if available and if they feel like cooking and make a group meal EAT a piece don’t just put it down and wander off.

The teenagers have to leave the house at least an hour before school or they are stuck in a fill hygiene loop that can’t be cancelled even though they woke up at 5am and had a bath and did all that stuff but waking them up at 5am they are already half sleepy and half energy in the 3 hours they have been awake. So yes I agree stop this angering unnatural drains. I don’t want to be a 7-11 Zoi. I prefer to be a 3am or whenever they aren’t tired - however long they can stretch their energy. When the teenagers stay at home they are almost late for school because of this nonsense they are clean and don’t need a toilet yet that is all they want to do before school. Having to nap on the sofa before school because of unnatural super fast need depletion is frustrating.

This live by OUR rules and play by OUR rules seems very controlling and takes away our freedom to create what is REAL simulation in OUR lives not the games. Not everyone goes to sleep at 11pm not everyone wakes at 7am. I for one am frequently up all night long waking at 3pm and staying awake until 830am or so and I certainly don’t feel like I’m going to die from sleep deprivation or have so little energy I can’t go to bed. I don’t eat breakfast I have dinner at times around 7pm and breakfast around midnight or 2am or so nothing is planned I sleep when I’m tired and eat when I’m hungry and use the bathroom when I need to why can’t my Zois?

This SUPER FAST drain of sleep and energy just because it’s between the hours of 11pm and 7am is not realistic no-one lives like that in Canada.
