[1.2.26] Multiplayer already in March? Please NO

There we have it, the game for Solo Players is lacking and bugging more than ever before - but in March, Multiplayer is already starting -.-

inZOI-online Roadmap 2026
Development Direction
There are still many unresolved questions that must be validated through internal and external testing to
confirm the value of online features. inZOI-online is being developed while continuously migrating and
matching the base game, which makes the work both broad and technically challenging.
Because this is a new direction for the genre, we are also starting from fundamentals such as defining
the target audience. We genuinely hope youĘĽll enjoy inZOI-online, and throughout 2026 we want to
discuss results and direction—based on testing—with the community and build it together.

He also mentioned it’s being worked on by a separate team:

The Beyond the Fundamentals 2026 Roadmap is being driven by a dedicated internal team working in parallel with the existing core development team.
This work is designed to expand our capabilities without reducing focus, resources, or staffing on ongoing core improvements.

Seeing how almost every aspect got worse since the October/December updates, I doubt that.

You think he’s lying about having a separate team working on it? If you don’t believe a direct, explicit statement from the lead dev, I guess there’s no reason to trust anything else on the roadmap either, including the multiplayer timetable.

I think that’s also why the graphics get worse for all of us, because they need to be to allow hundreds and thousands players on a server.

Omg and also the distance culling!
There is no such thing as developing multiplayer separated, it affects the solo players in more ways than we can imagine.

And the streets being all empty all over again, all sacrifices for making multiplayer stable.

I don’t like those changes either, but I don’t see any evidence they’re anything to do with multiplayer. More likely they’re just struggling to find a good balance between simulation and performance, which they already mentioned was a difficult issue. The way he’s describing multiplayer, it sounds like it’ll be completely separate from the singleplayer (e.g. having to create a specific personal character for online play and log in through a lobby / waiting room).

Multiplayer is a mistake. I don’t see it working out in the long run. This is a very, very poor choice of a feature to focus on. I hope the devs can reconsider their priorities.

The only good multiplayer would be 2-4 players playing a family each or the same one for fun little sessions.
Other than that I don’t care much for it and there’s far more important things than that.

If it starts dragging the whole game down (graphics, performance, weird changes for no reason) then I am 100% against it even if it would be cool to do a coop every now and then.

There’s little I can do about it, but I do find it odd that this would happen already while half the game is not done yet, and the stuff that’s done got stripped out or altered for worse version than how it felt pre-0.2.0 or pre-0.3.0… heck even the basic gameplay with needs depletion over time got nerfed for some artificial enforcement of the 8am-10pm lifestyle, complete with dinner at 12 and supper at 6pm.

Like Multiplayer should not be heavily invested in until the game finds it’s polish back.
IMHO

They need to stop this. There are too many shortcomings. Vehicles and Zoilers constantly disappear due to distance culling. Optimization is poor; streets feel empty and lifeless after updates. I think they need to fix these things first.

A server can have lower graphics, has nothing to do with us playing solo in our preexisting worlds on our pcs with our graphics abilities imo

I agree, they should have a solid foundation first :+1:
