Media Production – Skill progression & money guide (post-December Update)

:clapper_board: Media Production – Skill progression & money guide (Level 0 → Level 10)

In my rotational play I’m testing different money-making skills with Zois dedicated to a single skill. Since I noted everything down for future reference, I’m sharing my Media Production observations here.

Settings: 96-minute day

:white_check_mark: Quick Summary

  • Level 0 → Level 1 is very fast (a few minutes) and not representative of later pacing.

  • Leveling pace is fairly consistent through most of the skill: typically around ~3 hours per level-up (with a notable speed-up at Level 9).

  • Video creation time drops massively as you level:

    • ~7.5h early → ~5h40m mid → <4h → <2h late game
  • Money spikes once Excellent/Perfect outcomes become more common (Perfect sells 1000 Mew).

  • Level 10 adds “host brand event” & “create advertisement content” actions

:magnifying_glass_tilted_right: General notes (actions & timings)

  • Practice Photo Editing: ~8–9 min

  • Practice Video Editing: ~19–20 min

  • Create Video: long production action; sell value depends on quality

  • TV: “Watch reality show” ~10 min

  • Photos/Selfies: via city photo spots, build-mode cameras, or smartphone self action

:puzzle_piece: Unlocks (additions by level)

  • Level 0: Under Create Video Editing is already available (sell range 15–375 Mew depending on quality)

  • Level 3:

    • Unlock Vision Maker Computer (Build Mode purchase, 5300 Mew, all stats Excellent)

    • Unlock Workout Video and Performance Video (sell range 30–750 Mew by quality)

  • Level 4: Unlock Singing Video and Comedy Video (sell range 30–750 Mew)

  • Level 5: Unlock Advertisement Video (sell range 40–1000 Mew)

  • Level 7: Unlock Vintage Camera (Build Mode purchase, 259 Mew)

  • Level 10:

    • Create advertisement content (20 min, 3-day cooldown, outcome can pay 1000 Mew or 0)

    • Participate in brand events / Host brand promotion broadcast (scheduled Sunday 8pm–11pm; may not reliably appear in calendar after registration)

:bar_chart: Core progression table

Phase Time to level up Time to finish 1 video Notes
Level 0 → Level 1 a few minutes Starter level
Level 1 → Level 2 ~2h50m ~7.5h Level-up happens long before the first full video finishes
Level 2 → Level 3 ~2h50m ~7.5h Similar pacing
Level 3 → Level 4 ~3h10m ~7.5h (first one finished close to Level 4) Early finished video sold at Medium for 37
Level 4 → Level 5 ~3h ~5h40m Noticeable speed-up in creation time
Level 5 → Level 6 ~3h ~5h40m Example: Good sold for 150
Level 6 → Level 7 just under ~3h just under ~4h Another speed-up
Level 7 → Level 8 just under ~3h just under ~4h Example: Medium sold for 100
Level 8 → Level 9 just under ~3h just under ~2h Big speed-up, first Perfect sold for 1000
Level 9 → Level 10 ~1h50m just under ~2h Example: Excellent sold for 300
Level 10 just under ~2h Late-game quality becomes the main driver for money

:money_bag: Sell observations (examples)

  • Medium: 37 Mew (early finished video)

  • Good: 150 Mew (Level 5 example)

  • Medium: 100 Mew (Levels 7–10 examples)

  • Excellent: 300 Mew

  • Perfect: 1000 Mew (first observed at Level 8)

:chequered_flag: Level 10 money actions (advertising/brand events)

1) Create advertisement content (PC)

  • Takes 20 min

  • Has a 3-day cooldown

  • Result appears hours later via popup

  • If you choose the “nice / fulfil the client request” option → 1000 Mew

  • Other option → 0 Mew (client unhappy)

2) Brand events / Host brand promotion broadcast (PC)

  • Appears as a scheduled Sunday event (8pm–11pm)

  • After signing up, the event may not reliably be added to the calendar (seems to be the calendar bug)

  • Expected payout likely up to 1000 Mew if it behaves like other skill competitions, but I could not confirm via a completed event.

:hourglass_not_done: Time to max

With a strong focus on Media Production while still handling daily needs and some social life, reaching Level 10 took about ~3 in-game days.
