Expandable Player-Owned Land

Hey everyone,

I have an idea that could really improve building and creativity in the game:

It would be great if players could expand their own land — either through purchasing, in-game progression, or other mechanics.

For players who enjoy building and designing, space can run out pretty quickly. With a land expansion feature, it would be possible to:

  • create larger and more ambitious projects

  • continuously develop and upgrade your home

  • have more freedom and creativity in building

Some possible implementation ideas:

  • unlock or purchase additional land areas

  • dynamically expandable plot boundaries

  • tie expansion to level progression or in-game currency

I think this would significantly increase both creativity and long-term engagement.

That sounds interesting. But the developers just recently standardized plot sizes to make it easier to navigate when placing lots from Canvas. So if we make plots resizable too, it turns out that some downloaded plots might not fit for other players in the same location simply because they haven’t purchased enough space yet. This could create confusion.

And how do we account for future expansion then - always leave empty space around each plot? That might not look very nice.
