Hi everyone (@here),
We have released a v0.8.2 hotfix today so could you check if the crash issue has been resolved? Thank you.
Hi! I tested with mods disabled. Then I checked and enabled mods. Now the game works in both cases. Thank you so much! <3
Thank you! It seems to have fixed for me as well!
After the 02/05 hotfix, the game closes by itself after ~2-5 minutes of gameplay. It happens EVERY SINGLE TIME I launch the game.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X GPU: XFX RX 9060XT Swift OC 16GB RAM: 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Storage: 500GB NVMe SSD Monitor: 1080p 165Hz OS: Windows 11 (25H2) GPU Driver: AMD Adrenaline 26.3.1 (FULLY UPDATED)
Disabled ALL mods - Renamed entire mods folder
Updated GPU driver - Installed AMD Adrenaline 26.3.1 (latest version)
Cleaned shader cache - Deleted entire ShaderCache folder and recompiled
Validated game integrity - Steam verified all files
Engine.ini set to vanilla - Using default game configuration
Lowered graphics settings - Ray Tracing disabled, everything on minimum
Disabled DirectStorage - Removed storage optimization features
Disabled AsyncCompute - Removed GPU parallel optimization
NOTHING fixed it - the game still keeps crashing!
| Date | What happened |
|---|---|
| 29/04 | Game running PERFECT on UE 5.6.0 - 219+ FPS, zero crashes |
| 30/04 | Hotfix released - game started crashing |
| 01/05 | New hotfix attempted fix - still crashing |
| 02/05 | Hotfix v0.7.2 - STILL CRASHING |
Launch the game
Play normally for 2-5 minutes
Out of nowhere: SILENT CRASH (no error message, just closes)
Back to desktop
This happens 100% of the time.
From analyzing the crash log files (crash XML), the issue is:
RHIInterruptThread (GPU communication thread) is crashing.
This means the graphics card is receiving an invalid command from the engine and fails silently.
The 02/05 hotfix must have changed how the engine communicates with the GPU and broke something fundamental.
I found in the forum that there are 285+ people reporting the same problem in the thread: “InZOI Won’t Launch After Hotfix v0.7.2”
Status: UNDER INVESTIGATION - you guys already know there’s a bug!
When is the next hotfix coming? I need to play again…
Is there anything else I can do while waiting? I’ve tried everything I know.
Should I downgrade to the previous version?
I have 2 crash dump files (XML) if you need them for investigation:
First crash: ~140 seconds after launching
Second crash: ~287 seconds after launching (same error)
I can provide them if it helps with the investigation.
Hey there, thank you for providing this detailed issue
If possible, please upload the save files too.
Does it only crash when you’re in gameplay mode or also when you’re launching for example CAZ from the main menu? ![]()
The game crashes after only a few minutes of gameplay. Before the hotfix update, it was perfect. I can’t send the save file right now, but I have the crash logs here. Is that okay?
I really want to solve this issue, as Inzoi has been my comfort game during tough days.
B1_Crash_CVars.csv (378.9 KB)
CrashContext.txt (50.1 KB)
Thank you for providing them. Like you mentioned, it seems to be a GPU / driver issue, as noted in the crash report.
Can you check how much of your GPU is constantly used while playing? Maybe a screenshot or various ones of the task manager would be nice.
Also please try turning realistic shadows off, like @davinneca mentioned. It’s not very likely imho, but trying it surely can’t hurt ![]()
Another attempt to solve this could be a clean de-install and re-install of the GPU driver via DDU ![]()
Looking at the crash logs: RAM Usage at crash: - Used: 8.2 GB out of 32 GB (26%) - Peak: 9.6 GB (30%) - Available: 14.6 GB still free - OOM flag: No GPU VRAM: - Estimated usage: ~6-7 GB out of 16 GB - Plenty of headroom available.
Yes, I already tried that - twice. I’ve already done a complete DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) uninstall and clean reinstall twice: 1. First time: Reinstalled AMD Adrenaline 26.3.1 2. Second time: Downgraded to AMD Adrenaline 26.2.1 Both times - same crash signature, same timing (~140-287 seconds) So it’s not a driver installation issue. The crash is definitely from the 02/05 hotfix code itself. ![]()
Is your Smart Zoi ON or OFF? But I guess you did all at this point. Hopefully on to the next Update I can use my Smart Zoi.
Smartzoi is disabled. I never enabled that game function.
I played wonderfully after the update until late in the night of today, May 5. After the hotfix downloaded today, now it’s absolutely impossible to play. It crashes to desktop after a couple of minutes in every occasion, during the most recent save, in a new save, in CaZ, building a house,… . It loads, it opens up, and it crashes after a few minutes
Thank you so much for the suggestion to disable Realistic Shadows!
I’ve been struggling with deterministic GPU crashes every 2-5 minutes since the 02/05 hotfix. I tried everything - disabling mods, updating drivers, cleaning shader cache, adjusting every setting imaginable - nothing worked.
Your simple suggestion to turn off Realistic Shadows was the breakthrough I needed.
RESULT: I just played for 30 minutes on ULTRA settings with NO CRASHES!
This is the first time I’ve been able to enjoy the game since the hotfix broke it. The visual quality with ScreenPercentage at 115% still looks incredible, and the performance is smooth at 180+ FPS.
You literally saved the game for me. I was about to give up and consider it unplayable. Instead, I found a workaround that actually works.
Thank you again for the solution. Your help meant everything! ![]()
I’m happy to help. I know the feeling. Welcome back to the game.
