I’m not sure if I’m asking this question in the right category. But it’s important because some mods may have unintentionally interfered with my game settings.
I selected a very dirty environment in the city settings to roleplay an Apocalypse.
Everything looked the way it should — dirty streets, buildings, buses. But at some point, everything around suddenly became clean.
A day before that, I downloaded several (100 ) mods. When I disabled all of them, the city started looking the way I needed it to again — dirty and apocalyptic.
So I set myself the task of finding the mods that broke the game. Don’t ask how, but I found them!
Here they are.
If I deleted the first one without regret (though the dress is very beautiful), the second one I really wanted to keep because I love this hairstyle. I wrote a comment to the author on CurseForge hoping they would fix it. A day later, my comment just disappeared.
I thought — maybe there was an error on the platform and it was deleted by accident. I wrote the comment again on this hairstyle’s page. It was deleted almost immediately. I want to note that the comment contained no insults, nothing that could offend the author. I simply told the author that this mod doesn’t allow me to customize the city.
I want to address the mod authors. If you don’t respect players and delete comments asking you to fix errors, then what do we need you for?
TheKunstwollen, if you’re reading this, stop deleting comments and just find the error in your mod.
It’s too bad that there is this problem. I haven’t played with dirty streets and garbage yet, but I’ll keep that in mind for the future. I also really like the hairstyle itself and it’s installed the same way.
Thank you for the support, LadyDianaDi
I’m bringing up this problem on the forum specifically so that everyone knows about the issue and the mods that are ruining their game. And it’s also really sad that the authors of such mods don’t fix them; they just delete the comment about the problem from curseforge. I would generally ban authors from deleting comments.
It’s a waste of the mod subscriber’s time, and makes ppl not trust content creators and mods in general.
I would know, each time I install mods, even my OWN, I cringe.
I hate mods, too many bad experiences.
On the other side, there are human beings with their own lives, feelings and free time alotment.
But even being considerate and understanding, if in the end you do not want to fix/maintain your mods, just do everyone a favor and just delete your portfolio and scram.
People engage in creative work for free in their spare time. You don’t pay them for it, and they don’t owe you anything, including removing outdated mods. But you certainly shouldn’t delete comments about bugs either.
I’d like to add that if anyone happens to come across a mod that also affects global game settings, please share the mod name with a screenshot in this thread.
Thank you very much. Yes, it’s good to bring up such topics so that many people, including myself, understand that sometimes an installed mod is the cause of bugs.
Hi, I’m the creator of this mod. First of all, I just wanted to say that I’m absolutely blown away by this forum. It’s the first time I’ve seen your comments; in fact, as you can see, there are other comments mentioning bugs in the hair post, and they’re still there. I haven’t deleted anything – or if I did, it must have been a mistake whilst trying to reply from my mobile. I’m sorry if you felt upset; that wasn’t my intention, nor did I realise it had happened.
I’m not exactly sure what might be going on with the bug you’re referring to, I created this hairstyle in exactly the same way as the others. I’d love to know if anyone has a solution for it, as I’d like to fix it.
I’ll be waiting to hear if anyone can let me know. Thank you
Thank you for the author’s response! I love this hairstyle, looking forward to your next works, they look beautiful! I hope you manage to find a solution to this problem
Thank you for your response. We’ll be happy if you fix the error and we’re looking forward to your new works. The hairstyle is really cool, I’ve only been playing around with it since you published it
Thank you for taking the time to respond.
I hope you find the error, because I really love this hairstyle, it’s very beautiful.
It looks just as perfect as the hairstyles by my favorite author CazySims.
I’d like to point out, if you made this hairstyle the same way as the others, could there be an error in them as well?
I didn’t download the others, I only had this one. You can easily check them in the game using the city dirt slider.
Today I opened my save file where I play apocalypse, and discovered that the “dirty city” settings disappeared again. Snow in Dovone also vanished.
A few days before that, I downloaded about 20-30 clothing and hairstyle sets. Apparently, one of the mods turned out to be buggy.
I don’t have the strength to search for buggy mods anymore! I think something needs to be done about this.
I think the developers should give content creators precise instructions so these errors don’t appear.
Also, creators who know the reason why this happens could tell other content creators how not to make mods.
I know that @thekunstwollen fixed her mod with that beautiful hairstyle. If you read this, please tell the moderators about this error if you can.
For now, I’ll keep only the works of modders I trust - cazysims, apaloosa10, Jarus, NiVen and a few other authors.
I’ll just delete the rest of the mods because I don’t want this fuss around errors anymore.
For some reason, this hairstyle and all the work by @thekunstwollen don’t show up when I search for mods in the game. Of course, I can download the hairstyle from the curseforge website, but I’m curious why they’re not appearing in the game’s mod browser.
