Rentals, Landlords, Multifunctional Lots

Inzoi’s strength comes from its realism and beautiful design which immerses players in their zoi’s lives. The metropolis landscape of Dowon City is especially striking with tall buildings and shops placed all over. That being said, there are major areas for growth that would further improve the player experience.

An overhaul of apartments and lot ownership is a perfect place to focus on in upcoming updates (once fundamentals are settled). Many dev updates mention comments made by players to enrich cash flow. Apartment rentals are an excellent direction to take this in. Whether a zoi is leasing out a floor, or renting for themselves; there is an excellent motivator to work and earn money. Apartments shopping could leverage factors such as “ensuite laundry” or “excellent internet” which could have small impacts on the day to day lives of their residents. Zois could catch glimpses of their neighbours through interactions in lobbies or noise complaints at 03:00AM. Each floor could house a separate family, expanding lot sizes. Landlords could become a business opportunity of its own. And especially frugal zois could reside over businesses like lounges/clubs to enhance their social life at the cost of their sleep hygiene.

There are so many directions to take the concept of apartments, renting, and multifunctional buildings. Some inspiration to help others envision my idea include the following;

  • Your Zoi is heading out for work but forgot to pack a lunch, thankfully the cafe below their apartment baked some fresh treats to help start their day.
  • Having just moved out of their childhood home, your zoi’s parents come to help move in the essentials when their downstairs neighbour starts blasting rock music - much to the dismay of your zoi’s parents.
  • You have searched through four apartments in search of the best deal, you are just about ready to pick whichever comes next.
  • Oh no! Your toilet has broke, your zoi can choose to repair it or spam call their landlord who appears to be dodging their phone calls.
  • Who knew the cheapest apartment would also limit the stations your TV can pick up, and what’s not to love about the occasional power outage.
