Improvement of CurseForged Mod Restoration Workflow

I really appreciate the integrated CurseForge support, but I think the current restoration workflow becomes very difficult for players with large mod libraries.

Since the game already recognizes which mods I’ve previously subscribed to, it would be great if it could offer an option to automatically restore those subscriptions in safe batches instead of requiring players to manually resubscribe to every mod.

I have over 500 mods, and restoring them meant repeatedly subscribing to about 50 at a time, waiting, backing out to the mod list, reopening it, scrolling back to where I left off, and repeating the process around 11 times. Even after the recent hotfix, this is still a very time-consuming process.

This is especially challenging for players using cloud gaming services like Boosteroid, where game files and downloaded mods may not persist between sessions the way they do on a local PC. Although the game remembers my previous CurseForge subscriptions, I still have to manually restore them every time they’re no longer installed. That turns what should be a quick setup into a long series of repetitive clicks before I can even start playing.

Some features that would greatly improve the experience:

  • Restore Previous Subscriptions or Restore Missing Mods with one click.
  • Automatic queued downloads in safe batches instead of trying to restore everything at once.
  • Multi-select or row selection for manual installs.
  • A Resume Restoration feature if the game crashes or the process is interrupted.
  • Better management options for failed installs, such as Retry or Reinstall, instead of only indicating that a mod failed.

I really enjoy the integrated mod system and appreciate how quickly issues have been addressed. I think improvements like these would make it much smoother for players with larger libraries, especially those using cloud gaming services.
