Please stop ignoring users’ repeated requests to improve Canvas and stop hiding behind the terms of service. We are asking for meaningful improvements to be made as soon as possible.
The current inZOI Canvas system provides very weak protection for creators and their original works. Anyone can download buildings, ZOIs, and other creative works shared on Canvas, make minor changes—or in some cases, almost no changes at all—and re-upload them without needing any permission or approval from the original creator.
This system is extremely vulnerable to unauthorized use, copying, and redistribution of original creations. As creators, we have the right to decide whether our work can be modified, reused, or re-uploaded by others. inZOI needs to give creators that right and immediately improve a system that currently fails to protect original works.
If the creative ecosystem continues to operate like this, there will be no reason for creators to share works that represent hours of effort, accumulated knowledge, artistic judgment, and building experience developed through playing the game. Unlike some other games, we are not selling these creations or receiving any direct financial compensation. We share them simply because we want to contribute to the community, receive recognition, and share our work with other players.
However, the current Canvas system makes it far too easy for malicious users to take advantage of that goodwill and take someone else’s work, make minimal changes, and present it as their own.
Why should we continue spending countless hours creating original content when our work can simply become an easy target for people who want to take it and republish it?
I no longer trust inZOI Canvas as a platform that properly protects creators and their original works.
Everyone needs to take a closer look at this issue. The current Canvas system is far too vulnerable to the unauthorized use and redistribution of creators’ work. Until meaningful protections are implemented, I believe creators should consider boycotting uploads and stop providing their original creations to Canvas.
We should not accept a creative ecosystem that provides such a low level of protection for the people who spend their time and effort creating original content.
Over the past several months, users have repeatedly raised concerns and requested improvements to Canvas through Discord feedback, forum posts, and Reddit discussions. Yet, from the perspective of many users, there has still been little meaningful change.
We should not continue allowing our concerns to be ignored.
Until inZOI provides proper protections for creators and their original works, we should protect our own creations by keeping them private instead of continuing to upload them to Canvas.
Creators deserve the right to control how their original works are used, modified, and redistributed. That should be a basic principle of a healthy creative ecosystem.
