Game crashes after update

  • Game Version: latest as of 03.09.2026

  • Platform: Steam windows

  • Mods: (Choose one: never used

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System (OS version, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage…): 12th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i5-12600KF (3.70 GHz), 32.0 GB (available: 31.8 GB), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER (12 GB)

  • Steps to Reproduce:

To check the update, I created a new save, settled a character, and drove them to the Kahaai Hotel. Upon arrival and check-in, the game crashes. I also noticed that my walls and windows, as well as furniture, are displaced.

After just a few minutes of playing, my game crashes… I can’t even enjoy the update. And of all days, today was the day I finally had some time to play.

My crash occurs upon launching the game, at the loading screen.

The first time I opened after update, the game froze during loading screen and I had to force quit. The second time I launched, the computer rebooted forcibly. From time to time, I only get a black screen (not even the loading screen) and have to force quit. But most of the time it is during loading screen, I can’t even get to main menu.

Using NVIDIA latest driver update with optimized settings for InZOI. Event log suggests that this is a driver related issue:

Hello @Helechka, thank you for the report.

Regarding the issue where the walls, windows, and furniture appear to be displaced, could you please provide screenshots showing how they are currently displayed in your game?

This will help us better understand the issue and identify which elements are affected. We are currently checking on the crash issue.

Thank you!

Hello, @sunsetsarsaparilla.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If the issue still persists, could you provide us the Crash Dump Files? Instructions can be found here: How to Send User Files to The inZOI Team (Updated)

Thank you.

In the screenshots marked with annotations, there’s a door that appears to be attached to the outside of the room. The character entered through it, but can’t get back out — he’s trapped. Plus, the chess table and chairs are sinking into the wall, the same issue with the other table. And yes, when I tried to load an old save, the game got stuck in an infinite loading loop(

DxDiag.txt (149.9 KB)

One additional note I would like to add: I used Display Driver Uninstaller to remove NVIDIA driver and performed a clean install after my previous message. The issue still persists. Some of the report folders and DxDiag report were generated after the clean install (possibly after 3 pm).

edit: On path C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\BlueClient\Saved\Config\Windows edited GameUserSettings.ini

changed values

DLSSValue=0
DLSSG_Mode=0

It seems to be holding up for now. However, turning these off are causing buzzy edges on objects and film-grain-like look at the screen so I hope a real fix will come.

Every time there’s a major update, my game crashes to desktop after a few minutes. It’s been like that for months. After weeks every time I can finally play again. This time it happened the same phenomenon: I uploaded a save from a couple of days ago and it crashed after about 5 minutes. I checked the ram and it was 23gb on 32gb. I started a new save and it worked but more bugs emerged (I would talk about them elsewhere).
So, I may be forced to delete my old save, but I wonder why every time there’s a big update the game crashes to desktop for weeks

Disabled Mods

Load My exsting save file

Open the world map and select one of thew newly updated locs

Travel to the school or Cahaya Private Spa

When my zoi enters location/the game crashes and closes

The crash occurs consistently when entering these newly updated locations

I verified the integrity of the game files through Steam

No error message, it just crashes automatically.

I had crashes after the 0.10.0 update. Prior to the update I ran the game in high settings. I had to lower both the performance and graphics settings to medium for the game to stop crashing. I am using the latest NVIDIA driver and also noticed a lot of flickering that wasn’t there before.

• Game Version:
v0.10.0

• Platform:
Steam / Windows

• Mods:
I use several mods downloaded from the official inZOI mod website, mainly flowers and clothing. These mods were already installed and used before the v0.10.0 update, and I did not experience crashes while using them before the update.

I also have approximately three downloaded house/building mods stored in my mods, but they were not used in the test save.

Important: The new game with Han Do-yun described below did not use any mods.

• Hardware Specifications & Operating System:
Windows 11 Home 64-bit (10.0.26200)
CPU: Intel Core i5-10400F @ 2.90 GHz
RAM: 32 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
NVIDIA Driver: 616.56 (August 26, 2026)
DirectX 12

DxDiag reports no problems.

• Steps to Reproduce:

  1. After the v0.10.0 update, I started a completely new game with a new character, Han Do-yun.
  2. The new save used a small, simple house built entirely with standard in-game items.
  3. Han used only standard in-game clothing.
  4. No mods were used in this save.
  5. I tested the new restaurant business using standard in-game restaurant properties.
  6. During this new game, the game crashed repeatedly. I experienced 9 crashes while testing Han.
  7. I then tested an existing save with my character Lin.
  8. When loading the Lin save, the game displayed a warning about a DLC/modification data mismatch.
  9. I selected OK. The save loaded, but the game crashed immediately afterwards.

• Details:

Before the v0.10.0 update, the game had been stable for a long time.

When I first started playing in 2025, I experienced some crashes during the early period of the game. There were 16 crash reports between March 28, 2025 and November 2, 2025.

After November 2, 2025, I did not experience any further crashes until September 3, 2026, after the v0.10.0 update.

On September 3, 2026, I experienced 10 crashes in total:

  • 9 crashes during a completely new game with Han Do-yun, without using mods.
  • 1 crash when loading the existing Lin save.

The Lin save also displayed a DLC/modification data mismatch warning before the crash.

I have kept the original crash folders and prepared two ZIP files:

  • Han – 9 crash reports from the new game
  • Lin – 1 crash report from the existing save

I am providing these Crash Dump Files for investigation.

After the most recent update, I am unable to play anymore too… just keeps crashing once I am trying to play or build a home.

Issue:
Since updating the game to version 0.1, I have been experiencing frequent crashes to desktop

Description:
Before the 0.1 update, the game ran without any issues, even when using higher graphics settings. After the update, the game consistently crashes after approximately 10–15 minutes of gameplay.

The game suddenly closes and returns to the desktop without displaying any error message, crash notification, or other warning.

Troubleshooting performed:

  • Completely reinstalled the game.
  • Removed all mods and confirmed that the game is running without mods.
  • Followed the recommended troubleshooting steps.
  • Lowered the graphics settings significantly.
  • Tested the issue with a newly created character/save.

Despite all of these steps, the game continues to crash after approximately 10–15 minutes of gameplay.

Additional information:
I do not believe the issue is related to my graphics settings. Before the 0.1 update, I was able to play on higher settings without experiencing crashes.

Lowering the graphics settings does not resolve the problem and significantly reduces the visual quality of the game, while the crashes still occur.

The issue therefore appears to have been introduced with the 0.1 update rather than being caused by my previous graphics configuration, mods, or an existing save.

Expected behavior:
The game should remain stable during gameplay without crashing to desktop.

Actual behavior:
The game consistently crashes to desktop after approximately 10–15 minutes of gameplay, without displaying any error message.

Frequency:
The crash occurs consistently and makes the game effectively unplayable.

Please investigate whether there is a stability or memory/engine-related issue introduced in version 0.1 that could be causing these crashes.

I play on Geforce NOW and unfortunately cannot get my zois to return to their home town from vactation as the game crashes everytime. I have tried a few work arounds but nothing has worked, it wont even allow me to select an earlier save from their home town from the lobby

Hey, do your crash folders contain other files? I think it would be more useful for them if you could zip the folders, and not only csv files. The source of the crash might be different.

But also be careful that some sensitive information may be exposed (your username, mods, etc.). You might consider clearing those parts before uploading.

(post deleted by author)

I’m not sure exactly which files might contain sensitive information. I’m not a computer expert, so I’d rather not delete or modify anything randomly. I simply followed the paths and instructions I was given to collect the crash files. If you could tell me specifically which files or information I should check or remove before uploading them, I can do that.

Yes, honestly I didn’t bother, either.

Unlike files, you can’t upload folders here directly, so you need to compress. You were nearly at the correct path. Instead of going inside crash folders, stay on the Crashes directory (you will see folder names like UECC-20260715.13878.W-302350-6B28CF4A4BCA91AACCD6F19D9639AA8D_0000) and select the folders that match with post-update dates. Right click → Compress to… → ZIP file. Then you can upload that ZIP file.

There are similar visual instructions in AR_Luna’s reply. The visual instructions in that post are for saved files. You will just do this for crash folders.
