Canvas, CurseForge, etc won't work!

Hello, I can’t seem to get any of these to work. It worked first when I got it but now if I use canvas the clothes are missing. I was able to delete them thank goodness. At first my mods were working and now they aren’t. I can’t get them to leave the installed window when they are not installed. They keep coming back to being synced. But there is nothing in the mods folder, or the in game folder. I however was able to use Nexus but the second mod didnt work so I just got rid of both of them. That wasn’t an issue. I have pictures on discord but everyone was very rude and wasn’t being helpful and thought I was spamming. I’m a very emotional person so I started crying off discord of course, no one can see you, still being treated like that is no fun. I have tried everything I can without casuing my boyfriend’s computer issues. Thus this game is new to me so I have no idea where anything is. I knew the sims 4 upside and backwards so coming to a completely new system is very hard. I hope to get some help soon. Thank you in advance.

I’m sorry you’ve been treated like that on Discord. Not everyone knows how mods and technical things work, so it’s unnecessary to be rude towards you for not knowing or spamming.

Could you maybe upload the pictures you posted on discord here, so we can see them? We have users here that know about curseforge and modding, so this would help. To upload here, there is a small arrow up icon with a thick line underneath. You can choose the pics to upload then.

Also, could you please fill out the technical specs that are listed above? This might also help pinpointing the issue​:four_leaf_clover:

Just for my understanding, you want to stop the syncing window from popping up? So that you are basically completely “mod free” for now? The mod data should still be in the “88849” folder, if I remember correctly. Are there still files in that folder?

Okay, this is where all the Cursforge mods are installed. Even if you remove them from the Curseforge, the data will still stay in that folder!

The question is, do you want all the mods gone? Then you can delete the content in that “88849” folder and you should have a “blank slate” again.

not all of them no, I wanna be able to install the ones I liked. it was kinda a run em and see what I liked. lots of outfits. what do I do next?

I would try it like this, step by step. I hope I explain it in an understandable way​:four_leaf_clover::

Do not delete the 88849 folder in Documents.

First make a backup of it somewhere safe, for example on your Desktop. Just copy the entire folder: Documents\inZOI\Mods\88849

Start inZOI and go to Game Options → Mods. Make sure mods are enabled. If they already are, turn them off, apply the setting, restart the game, then turn them on again and restart once more.

Open the in-game CurseForge/Mods window again and check whether the installed mods reappear.

Try the upper method first!

If they are still missing, completely close inZOI and Steam.

Press Windows + R and enter: %localAppData%\inZOI\User_data\88849

Before changing anything there, I would also make a backup of that folder just to be safe.

Look for a file called library.json. That file contains CurseForge/mod-library information. You can try moving library.json out of that folder onto your Desktop instead of deleting it permanently.

Start Steam and inZOI again. The game should recreate the library data, and hopefully CurseForge will scan/register the mods again.

If the Mods window is still empty afterward, I would try finding one mod you already have installed in CurseForge and press Install again as a test. Since the actual files are still backed up, this should help show whether CurseForge can reconnect the installed mod to its entry.

The important thing is: don’t delete Documents\inZOI\Mods\88849, because that appears to be where your actual mod files still are. The problem sounds more like the CurseForge library/index got reset or desynchronized after the update. :four_leaf_clover:

If you want, you can also show us what is inside %localAppData%\inZOI\User_data\88849 before changing anything, and we can check it together first.

Okay it seemed to still installed the ones I didnt want! BUT they managed to be where they are supposed to! So its a start. 50/50 auto install.

Okay, if I understand you correctly, there are now mods in them you want want and some you don’t want? Is that right?

It’s a bit finicky, but you have to unsubscribe from the ones you don’t want one by one, I think (I’m trying to do this by memory, so I’m sorry, if it’s not completely accurate ): ).

You can also temporarily just “disable” them, using that Mod screen you showed in the screenshot.

Right. But they go away like they should. And aren’t still there in the menu when I leave curseforge

That’s true. If you really want them gone “unsubscribing” removes them from the list and clutters less
