Hi Devs,
Could you please add an option to turn off mods and custom content when downloading lots or characters from Canvas? I know a lot of people like playing with mods, but they don’t want to get someone else’s custom content in their game, since it can sometimes cause bugs and errors.
It would also be super helpful to see exactly what content is included with a lot or a character — and the best thing ever would be if we could pick which content to download and which to skip.
I really support this idea!!! ![]()
For example, you see an architecturally beautiful house, download it, and with it clings a bunch of unnecessary 3D objects, textures, and the like.
Please give us the opportunity to choose whether we want custom content along with the house or not.
This would be great! I would also love if we could see wich textures and cc belonged to a certain build. Sometimes you download a build and it might not have been what you were looking for, but even if you remove it you still have the textures and cc. This can very fast create the problem of having to many textures, and might cause game problems.
I totally agree.
Mods still cause lots of issues, even game crashes, so it should be our choice if we want them in our game or not, and of course we should get informed if and which mods get installed.
It also would only be fair if the Creators of the added Mods would be credited.
What I do is make sure my folders are set to display the content based on the date modified and in descending order. That way, anytime I download something, the newest content will be at the top in my folders. If I don’t like or want it, I download the items right away. I can also double-check to make sure what content is in the folder before I delete it.
I need to add that I don’t use any mods, so I don’t have mods enabled in my game. That means I can’t download anything that includes cc mods. However, the options mentioned in this thread would help anyone who wants to play with selected mods only.
When I make a building or outfit, I often include custom textures as part of my creation. I usually upload all the customized artwork as well in case someone wants to use the furniture preset in another building. I definitely understand if people don’t want too many custom textures, though. While they might be an important element of my designs, I understand that not everyone will appreciate them the same way. ![]()
