I believe that fix was addressing the lights turning completely off and on repeatedly, around the world at night, which I don’t see happening in this video, unless I’m missing something.
Yep. Flickering or fluttering lights. Funny, I haven’t noticed this myself, but now that you’ve pointed it out, I probably will if the issue also exists in my game lol
Question: Does this issue still occur when “realistic shadows” is turned off? That setting definitely needs some optimization and stability updates.
It might be worth sharing your computer’s specs and your in-game graphics settings (screenshots of the options you use) in this report. I did the same in my post about strange shadows at night here: Strange, Harsh Shadows on Objects when Realistic Shadows are ON
I never got a response about this issue, though, so I don’t know if it’s being investigated or not.
Added my specks to the fist post of this topic.
And I fail to find ‘Realistic Lighting’, is it maybe ‘Realistic Shadows’?
If not, where can I find it? Under ‘Advanced’ or above?
’Realistic Shadows’ is turned off
Sorry, “realistic lighting,” was a typo. I meant to say, “Realistic Shadows,” as you can see with my post I linked Thank you for pointing that out.
Make sure to include screenshots of all your Graphics settings though, not just the ones at the bottom, just in case the issue is somehow related to any of those settings or their systems.
I play with the brightness pretty low on my laptop due to migraines and couldn’t see anything wrong. It wasn’t until I turned the brightness up that I could see them. It’s bizarre.
What I’ve also noticed are some of the emotion icons are blinking too.
Please stop this.
As mentioned above is so annoying/painful for players with migraines, motion sickness, epilepsy, photo sensitivity…
And since we were at Cahaya anyway, I’ve made a video from the flickering lights there too.
It mainly seem to be the buildings there.
(I have no Special Effects in the City Settings enabled)
I think they blink like this when they are about to expire, but I find it annoying too. It is very difficult to ignore flickering things on the screen, distracting even if you don’t suffer from any of the issues mentioned.
From what I have seen, “dither” or flickering in game has reduced quite a lot from the first release, when some buildings (certainly in Dowon) used to have some eye-bending effects applied when seen from a distance.
Edit: I had the flickering lights issue too, due to Realistic Shadows; I turned that setting off and haven’t tried it again to see if it is fixed yet.
Yes, this looks like another issue, not as intrusive but still annoying. Looks like a rendering issue or something, not sure if any settings will improve matters. I don’t tend to spend much time looking at a full view like that so I probably wouldn’t see it - but I will check next time I have chance to play, see if it happens on mine too.
