  • Error Message: none, graphic glitching

  • Details:

I am getting video graphic glitching artifacts when I zoom just a little out from my character, does anyone know what that issue is from and how to fix that? Game is unplayable for me like this. I am running the latest nvidia driver on a 5090 v581.42. I tried removing Documents/inZOI, appdata/Local/inZOI, and appdata/Local/Blueclient but it didn’t change anything. Changing video options in game from Ultra to a lower setting only fixed it for a minute and started doing it again.

Sorry to know that you are having graphics glitches.

Please do mention the following information

  • What are your system specs (fill the complete template that is at the start of your message)
  • Are you playing with or without mods?
  • Was the game working properly without graphics errors at any point earlier?
  • What has changed since last when the game was working properly? - system updates, game updates, added mods, changed drivers, any hardware changes.

Try clearing the shader cache

  • In the game, Options > Graphics > Clear PSO cache

  • Disable Steam overlay from Steam > Settings > In game. Also clear steam download cache as precaution. You will need to login again to Steam next time you start it.

  • Clear NVidia and DX cache.
The following post has some information
The game keeps crashing. What should I do?

Also, The following video may help. However, note down your NVidia settings before making any changes. Also see the full video before making any changes. Do not delete anything without understanding
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDcvc43yzG0

  • In Windows Settings > Display > Graphics, add inZoi and set the options to High Performance. The executable is [YourSteamLibrary]\steamapps\common\inZOI\BlueClient\Binaries\Win64\inZOI-Win64-Shipping.exe

  • Windows 11 has a fast start system after booting. For this, Windows stores the state of the current session and often used programs almost like hibernation. Sometimes this creates issues in graphics heavy games. So it is best to turn off this fast start feature. At most it adds a few seconds to your restart.

    • In Windows search bar, search for control panel.
    • Go to System and Security > Power Options. Choose “What power buttons do”.
    • Under Shutdown Settings, disable “Turn On fast startup”
  • Restart Windows (Restart, not Shutdown and reboot, but Restart)

  • When you restart any game, (not just inzoi), it will take some time as the shaders will be recompiled.

  • Run inZoi without any other application running (such as discord or browsers, especially Edge which pre fetches sites in the background. Switch this off in its settings)

  • If the issue persists, try rolling back the NVidia driver to one that worked earlier (assuming you had no issues previously).

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the informative reply. I did update my 1st post with the information that was missing.

I did the following:

Went to: \AppData\Local\NVIDIA
and deleted what I was able to

Deleted InZOI from Users\Documents
Deleted Blueclient from AppData\Local
Deleted InZOI from AppData\Local

No difference, same issue, using default made characters in a new game.

FIX:
Rolled back driver from v581.42 to v581.29 and that is what fixed it. There is something up with the latest driver apparently that is messing it up. It looks like the glitching artifacts comes from refraction’s from metal such as a sink as well as tree branches.

Edit: see below. The Fix did’nt fix it.

Oh wow, that’s good to know. Remember to mark that as the solution so people can see it was solved and know what to do if they have the same problem with the driver.

Ah, didn’t see that. Done ty.

I also posted on the Nvidia forums too at https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/575454/geforce-grd-58142-feedback-thread-released-93025/3568974/

Glad to know that your issue got fixed.

BTW, for others who may visit here, you should not be deleting the entire Documents\Inzoi and the %AppData%\Local\Blueclient folders. These folders have other subfolders that hold the game configuration data, and your Save files, Canvas downloads, Mods and so on. Proceed exactly as suggested by the techhelp, and be especially careful about deleting.

Anyway, good that things worked out.

Well, I started a new game today and as soon as I created the character and got into the city, the glitching started all over again. So it is not fixed…

I installed 577.00 driver and rebooted, testing this one out, so far ok. Seems like as soon as I install a different driver the game works again, not sure what made 581.29 not work after a day though.

NVidia forums for driver versions since 57x.xx have been full of unsatisfactory comments. It seems to be hit and miss with some versions. I tried 572.83 and gave up.

Personally I am still on 566.36 (Dec 2024) which I found to be the most stable for all games and also my creative work. 4070 Ti.

Someone else on the Nvidia forums had a very similar issue with the 581.42 driver in a different game called Expedition 33 which is very interesting being that it is not only happening in InZOI.

@moderators It can be closed ! and his answer has the solution  : Graphic video glitching artifacts when zoomed out - #3 by Drakah

No, it isn’t solved. It is still occurring. I even edited that post at the botton saying “Edit: see below. The Fix did’nt fix it.”

I am currently testing the latest video driver.
Artifacts found:
581.42
580.88

Also try setting Vsync ON in the game options.

Vertical Sync has always been on.

Right now I am testing with 581.57 and so far I have not seen any Artifacts displaying wildly on the screen when zooming out of the houses/buildings. I will keep playing to see and will let you know. I have not changed any settings, so it seems to be solely driver related, at least to a 5090.

Oh, sorry for misreading that !!! Info important I think to take. Thank you so much for sharing. We are waiting and hoping that it’s better for the future
