Be very tired (my gauge was completely empty !) then sleep.
So I went to sleep around 10.30pm. My character woke-up fully rested at 02.34am.
I guess there’s still more adjusting to be done to the sleep / need gauges.
Thank you for looking into it.
PS: Genuine question at this point… Why not revert the needs change back to pre-0.4.3, the default day length to 96min since no one asked for that change, and rework the needs balance “in-house”, that would give us a much better playing experience until it becomes ready for prime time again. There’s no shame in wanting to rework things. But right now it’s making the play experience for those not playing the 48min day length quite miserable. I’ve never seen it this bad to be honest. Just IMHO !
Since we already can skip time (until the kids come back from school, for example) it would make things so much easier if we had a ‘sleep until…’ option.
With more Zois in the household, it’s such a hassle to put them all over to bed again when they get up every few hours.
It would be great if we could get functional alarm clocks, so we could set the time we want the Zoi to wake up and just have them sleep until the alarm goes off.
Oh that would even be better and more immersive! I’d love that
You should make a wishlist post for alarm clocks
We could even set timers with watches for certain activities.
Work-out for an hour, read for an hour, eat for ten minutes . . .
This could really be the solution for every need/daylength issues we currently have.
I absoloutly have no idea why this is so hard.
If the devs would implement this in the code, the Zoi would start eating at, let’s say 3PM ingame time (no matter which daylength is set) and eat for 10 minutes ingame time and stop at 3:10 (for example).
Until 3:10 PM the hunger bar would fill up and the Zoi would stop eating.
I’m on 96m and sleep is working OK for me - my characters go to bed around 10-11pm and wake up around 6-7am, so I’m not sure what could be causing your issue. It would be much easier if they’d just allow us to set how long we sleep for (6 hours, 8 hours, “until fully rested”, etc.)
I think it would be amazing if we could have the ability to change the needs depletion speed and time speed on our own. Either by writing in numbers or by using sliders. Then everyone could change their settings to what best suits their play style.
if they implement proper scaling, any timescale should just work. and you could change decay rates too because it could be a variable in the formula. nraas relativity mod for sims 3 nailed this over a decade ago.
Yes exactly and I think it would be amazing if this was a function in the game without the need for mods. Especially after all the disagreements around the day time changes, so many having problems with need decay, and with people having so many different preferences I feel like it would remove a lot of extra work on changes and be a solution that could let them keep everyone happy.
The need bar for the zoi would have a timed depletion rate. You could expect say, the sleep bar, to last 16 hours.
The regeneration rate should also be a set time (say 8 hours).
Now if you change length of day it should have no impact. still 16/8 rule.
That’s how it felt before. that’s how I want it to be fixed.
You guys have good ideas, but I just want a stable need depletion/recovery again.
I’ve also seen that after 0.4.5, the needs thing is now in the known issue, which makes me think what we have now might just be a placeholder.
I would take the changes from 0.4.0+ out at this point.
It’s extremely aggravating and not working well.
I did more testing and sometimes they stay asleep until 6am even if their sleep gauge is full since 02.30am.
I guess the gauge depletion/replenish speed need more adjusting but at least they dont wake up all the time in the middle of the night anymore.
Still needs still need lots of adjusting on their depletion and recovery rate.
It’s still broken though, I keep my bug report up
wait pick me up, didnt they say we would be able to pick between 3 options for the day length and one of it being the 96 one?? why did they remove that?? i dont want the game to be as fast as sims where nothing can get done and everything is unbalanced
Hello everyone (@here),
Sorry that the need-related issue has occurred again.
We’re currently looking into it. Will share any updates in this thread.
Thank you!
