Contributors (Credit To Original Creators) & Used of Patterns and Textures

Hello Inzoi, i have concerns, because i work hard at what i do and i would like the other creators/players to not take my work and pass it off as their own creations. It is not fair and not right. There has been a lot of stealing and not acknowledging your work. 1. I buy and create my own patterns and textures and i don’t want to automatically share them when i upload homes, furniture clothes, etc. In Sims 4 your patterns/textures are not shared only the item at hand unless you upload your patterns/textures to share. I do not want to share my patterns that i make when people are not acknowledging that and taking them as theirs. There should be a way like sims that it happens and it changes. If creators want to share there textures and patterns then they are free to upload that just as they do homes, clothes, furniture etc., if you like.

The other concern is creating and uploading to canvas. A lot of people are downloading my stuff but they are re-uploading my things and not acknowledging who the original creator is. They are passing it off as there own. That is also not fair when you are working hard to share with them and they don’t appreciate it but want to steal what you’ve done. That needs to change. On Sims 4, when someone re-uploads your creation to the gallery it automatically show the original creators name and link to their profile as it states below so that way it will acknowledge who originally created it. I don’t want to keep creating when others are stealing my creations and not even acknowledging who created it. I see my stuff in most re-uploads and i am not on the contributor and/or they will try to modify it and re-upload it so they think i would not know but because i create a lot of my own patterns/textures i know my work. I don’t want to keep sending messages to them when it’s already on what i upload not to and blocking them when they still will have my textures and patterns after i block them. My suggestion is to have that put in so we don’t have to keep stressing over it. I am a creator on another game also and my patterns and textures are not shared unless i put it in my shop to buy but, when i make clothes, hair, furniture etc., my patterns and textures are not available to them, just the item. Please consider these changes. Then i will be excited to create and upload more things. I don’t want to share my actual patterns/textures, just the items, furniture, homes, clothes, etc., that i upload to canvas only. I want all the creators acknowledged automatically. I see it happening to more than me. Creators leaving messages on others uploads because they are using there stuff but not acknowledging the original creator. Please put that in the game. Thank you.

In Sims 4, the gallery will show the original creator’s name when another creator re-uploads an item, often linked to their profile. The game automatically adds a credit to the original creator, which is often a clickable link to their gallery page. The default behavior is to give credit.

How it works

  • Automatic credit: When you download an item and then upload your remixed version, the Sims 4 Gallery will show both your username and a link to the original creator.

  • Credit appears on the item’s page: This credit is part of the item’s gallery page and is visible to other players who download it.

  • Remodeling vs. using original: Even if you completely rebuild an item from scratch, if you use parts of a lot that were originally built by someone else, the original creator will still be credited. This happens when you merge or replace items and can’t always be avoided even if you remove the original items from the lot.

  • Gallery etiquette: It is considered good etiquette to credit the original creator when sharing your work, and the gallery automatically helps with this.

I was asked by Inzoi Support could i also share this on forum to help spark meaningful improvements.

Hello @TruSkyy

I see you posted the same content again. For clarity and to keep the discussion tidy, I’ll merge your posts. If you meant to update something, feel free to add it as a comment next time.

I think the same happened to me with a zoi, the one I found under the same name (which there are not many uploads for to begin with, maybe 5 or something) came suspiciously close to the zoi i once had public, the only thing that was altered was beard stubbles (made more prominent, not much difference) and the nose looked slightly “smoother”, however the shape and facial features/skin wrinkles etc looked the same, even the eyes. And I was not under the creator thing either.

That’s not entirely correct. The names are displayed when you download something; at the very bottom, you’ll see the names of the co-creators, whether it’s the makeup, clothing, face, or preset. The only problem is that you can delete these names and then pass it off as your own. Unfortunately, it’s happened to me before that I found something really great and used it. Not intentionally, but the co-creator’s name was then gone when I uploaded it. I deleted the creation from my canvas because it was definitely unintentional. There needs to be a solution so that you can’t delete co-creators’ names, but rather that they are listed as a separate category.

There have been times before when I’ve uploaded to canvas using hair or something else that I didn’t create. I couldn’t find the right details to credit the person; it was gone somehow. All I could do was state that it wasn’t my creation.

It does bother me that when I upload with my own textures, I know that I’m putting them out there for other people to take credit for. I don’t like it. We should automatically be credited for what we’ve contributed. If I were a modder and people were claiming my work, I think I’d stop sharing.
