Can you please remove the textures shown in the creators tab on Canvas and make it so that no-one can steal our textures?

I liked this dress then read the comment and unliked it, and also someone used my Rainbow Brite texture that I created in photoshop (one of a kind), and these people just use our creations without spending the time to create them in which don’t even have the talent to create them.

Read the comments from Ace-T and JoyIsFunner on Dress 3 by Roseberryred in which really should be Dress 3 by Ace-T

Textures should auto-credit
It’s insane we have to write the contributors ourselves O.o;;

EDIT: if anyone sees theirs on my creations let me know and I will credit you.

I looked into this issue. I can explain how it happened that the texture author’s name was not specified.

Here’s the work from which this texture was taken. inZOI Canvas

In this work, the author hid their texture from public access.

I’ve already written about the problem with hidden textures before, but nobody listened to me. Stop the Clones in the Gallery! - #12 by NyushaDm

@juegaterapia Hidden textures are for toddlers who don’t know where the game files are located or for beginners who don’t know where to look. Regardless of whether the author hid the textures, they still end up in our texture download folder and we can do whatever we want with them (re-upload with our own name). You just don’t see them visually in the game and on Canvas, but in reality they’re sitting in your MyTextures folder. And yeah, I agree that uploading objects on Canvas where texture icons aren’t shown is a “circus”… The developers of “Creative” did this for “fake privacy”! :+1:

Conclusion: whoever used someone else’s texture couldn’t have known its author because they extracted it from their own “MyTextures” folder.

You can run the experiment yourself. Upload a work by any author with a hidden texture. This texture won’t be displayed in the game in the place where all textures are visible. It will only be applied to the object (everything looks legitimate).

Go into your “MyTextures” folder, and you’ll see this hidden texture there. You can extract it and use it however you want. The texture has no author anymore. It belongs to you! You can re-upload it to the game and make it public, and then this texture will bear your name. And everyone who downloads it will know it’s yours.

P.S. Canvas severely violates copyright. It treats players as dumb and illiterate.

Very nice you found the first upload by Ace-T :+1: I looked for it but didn’t see and I wasn’t going to open every one of their creations, and yea hidden texture do not work, it would be sweet if the textures was saved on an inaccessible cloud and only available on the creation, but that may be a waste of resources

Canvas is broken. It violates player copyright. For this reason, I don’t publish my work there. If Krafton doesn’t reconsider their copyright policy for players, my work will never be published there. Many talented creators have left this platform due to disagreement with the copyright policy for players.

Thing is… it’s stricter now than it was back in 0.1.0

It used to be you could scrub authorship AND contribution and take full “ownership” of the work.
Source ? A few “creators” got banned around 0.2.0 and it was a huge thing.
Now it auto-credits the original author… But steals your downloads and likes. It’s not perfect.

The easiest way would be to prevent re-upload as was asked.

I’m talking about textures here, but this goes for outfits and characters too. I’m so tired of seeing my work get reposted (most of the time with zero changes), no credit, no mention of the original. It’s honestly starting to gross me out. Especially since I make it clear that I want to be credited. Either people can’t read or they just don’t care. At this point, I’m just gonna keep my work to myself if Krafton doesn’t step up

@Ace-T I’m so sorry to see your work undervalued and stolen. Your works are really great and beautiful! Creating such masterpieces is enormous effort — it takes so much dedication. Because of this unfair Canvas policy, I don’t want to publish my own works. I’m waiting for the policy to change. We’ve asked about this before, but we weren’t heard. Here are topics with similar requests.

Please like and vote. The more activity on the topic, the more hope we have of being heard and understood.

Thank you, that’s really kind of you! I’ve read it all, and I agree with some points, especially being able to choose whether others can repost your work. Even though it feels a bit contradictory for me, since I sometimes edit and share characters from other creators. I’ll try to make a request on my side, because it’s honestly getting exhausting

I have used other creators faces for a starting base model and create a whole new zoi with them, I always type Thank CreatorName for the first zoi face preset that helped create this cute zoi  and include them in the Contributors tab.

However I have stopped because what credit do they receive when people download from me?

I honestly hope the devs can make it so that no-one can use others creations to upload to Canvas, it’s full enough with us creating and uploading, it doesn’t need anyone putting a different paint or whatever and reuploading

Why is it showing my post was translated from Italian? I only know American English lol

Same here ! I put it front and center, and I always try to preserve the original character’s identity

Absolutely right. Unfortunately, some people keep uploading others’ creations even though they’ve been politely asked not to so. I really hope that inZoi — or rather, its AI — implements a safety measure to prevent this from happening.

I just stumbled on yet another post with stolen content. The worst part? Even after I called it out, people are still liking it and downloading it from the reposter. It’s ridiculous

Well tomito#0001 screwed the roof up, and I’m thinking they did not create the drive through because if they could, they’d built their own lol

Oh my… honestly, I’ve happened to post a few outfits with other people’s textures without tagging anyone, but I swear I did it completely innocently  I didn’t think that since they were textures it could be a problem especially because there’s been an option for a while now to make them public or not (I’m not a kid but I’m clueless with computers so I thought the problem had been solved with the introduction of that option)… anyway, about the rest of the content I can understand that it might bother people (zois, builds etc.), it happened to me too and I got annoyed. But about textures, I don’t know, in my opinion it’s not really that serious
