Somehow Jack and Vlad (both my Zois) were able to start messaging without me initiating it, but Vlad wants to send a message/start such a chat with Saiwa (also my Zoi).
I tried via the phone options of the Zoi, but there are only options for Prank , Rumor and Malicious Rumor (why only mean options though? And if he’d send such a text, would he be able to pick a Zoi? I don’t want to risk ruining their friendship by trying ^^’)
So as far as I can see, in the message menu is no option to start a chat between Vlad and Saiwa and in the relationship menu neither. How can I achive this?

I think the devs limited texting in the October update for some reason, unless it’s a bug. My Zois haven’t been able to text anyone other than household members since then. Tried looking through “contacts” and none were available for it.
Maybe they’re preparing for a texting overhaul? At least, that’s what I hope, because the last time they limited texting like this was right before we got the “you can now text first” update.

Normally the place where we were able to start messaging with a new Zoi with whom we did not had an ongoing coversation via phone was under “contacts”
and then chosing the relevant Zoi and start messaging him/her here:
Unfortunately since the October update the send message button is greyed out, it was possible before.

Hello, maybe this is a bug because I can send messages just fine, nothing is greyed out for me

Just found a thread where this bug has been already reported and posted there as well. So far I was really thinking that it affects all of us but good to know that the feature is theoretically still there and thus they will hopefully fix it for those who are affected.

hello, i just started up my save and played for a bit (one in-game day), for some reason after they send a message and i can pick what to reply, then every further messaging is greyed out now too, it started with that i picked “understood” at the question wether i want to participate in the sport event furhter (its the lowest option, and i clicked on it to see what it does cuz that answer doesnt rly makes much sense to that question), she then responded with”
” and i couldnt start a conevrsation anymore cuz the buttons are greyed out on everyone now for me too translation error - #10 by Scarlett

there it has been discussed even more. It seems that it is random. For me it first worked after the October update. Then like in your case did not work at all, not for a single Zoi contact. Then after weeks it worked again for all Zois, then did not work and now it works for some Zois but not all.
Really unclear what is causing this and why it is changing.
