[12.12.25] As I already mentioned, in the interview for Gamerant, Mar 16, 2025, Kjun said:
A: While inZOI is built around our realistic life simulation, providing a wide range of choices and a high degree of flexibility is equally important. Life simulation games appeal to a diverse player base, each with unique playstyles and preferences. To ensure a truly customizable and creative experience, we’ve integrated various options that allow players to shape their stories as desired.
For example, players can freely adjust the state of the city through the “Manage City”* feature. This allows them to control various elements that influence the simulation to their desired level, such as city cleanliness, fire occurrence rates, public safety, population size, the number of vehicles, etc. Depending on how these factors are adjusted, the city’s environment can undergo either dramatic or subtle changes, giving players control over both the difficulty and overall setting of the game.
!!! Manage City → Control City Stability → Control City Status
BUT!
• With the removal of Karma, two settings were also removed: Conversation Karma Positivity / Negativity. Though instead of removing such a gem, the rude/cruel autonomous interactions should’ve been under the control of these sliders.
Decrease Negativity – get a 0% chance of such actions + hidden in the action-menu stack (and then, with further Karma refinement, decide whether these are “karmic” actions).
• Likewise, for the police and for burglars, the City Safety setting should apply: with Very High = 0% chance, with Very Low = 200%.
“there’s a tool “Control City Stability” where you can completely change the look and feel of your city by changing the Fire Prevention, City Safety and Health Level you’ll get a very different city with fires, crime, decay…”
• The same kind of slider should be added for Ghosts.
It feels like the solution is right on the surface, are moreover these sliders aren’t the new feature to implement, they’re the game’s USP and were showcased long before early access, but devs often no longer mention these settings, and even remove them, meaning they no longer tend to offer a flexibly customizable (not imposed) gameplay style, which raises concern about their complete disregard (?).
At the same time, many Discord members also don’t mind the imposition, which leaves some players, who based their decision on the game’s USP prior to purchase, with questions and feeling morally drained. Why so?
Dear devs, please reconsider this. We’re waiting for a response, or patch notes regarding the improvements this part of the game’s USP.
