Error Message: None. But a small message saying “Broken File” hovers near the Unsubscribe button when I look at the mod.
I accidentally downloaded a Christmas Dress mod for girls (kid) in the mod manager, and it won’t let me unsubscribe. I’ve been crying my eyes out and spamming the button but nothing happens, I even deleted the file itself from Documents and the in-game menu still thinks it’s there. The mod itself says that there’s broken files, so it seems to know something is wrong, but IT WON’T GO AWAY! Also I have no ability to link my InZoi account to Curseforge. There are tons of great mods that show up in the curseforge website that don’t appear in the InZoi Mod manager search. PLEASE HELP I’M SCARED I BROKE THE GAME!

Hey there, thanks for reporting this.
Have you tried those 4 steps mentioned by one user who also experienced similar mod issues?

By the way, one user just mentioned their workaround / solution for a broken mod. Please look into it. It might help:

I already deleted it from documents… and there’s no pak-mods folder in my program files. I don’t know what to do…

Can you show us a screenshot of your mods folder? Maybe someone can identify something that shouldn’t be there.
Are you able to find the mod that caused this on curseforge? Or do you remember the name of the author?

Do you mean the in-game mod manager? Because the mods folder in my documents is empty. I deleted the mod that was in there. If you mean the In-game one I can try to get a picture for you guys…

If the folder is empty, we don’t need a screenshot. Thank you.
Do you remember the name of the mod that caused this issue or the name of the designer of the mod?

It’s called Christmas Dress for kids I think… it was one of the first mods that popped up in recommendations when I opened the in-game mod manager for the first time.

Can you download it again and then unsubscribe? Should be possible

Best advise is do not download any mods until inzoi is complete, I only downloaded mods from the in game mods “thinking thses must be safe if they’re in the game and not on any website” well some never showed up in my game, most did, then every time inZOI got an update they were disabled again, then after one update when I went to reactivate them, there was an insanely long list of mods with weird numbers instead of names with photos like the one ones I downloaded, Idk if these can corrupt my game wile inactive.
I hope the devs give us a mod manager where we can delete all that removes what we see in storage folders and also removes all fragments wherever they are in appdata and anywhere elce.

I think I tried to do that, and I still couldn’t unsubscribe. I also can’t like the mod or anything either. It’s like only the subscribe button works and nothing else. And I’m scared to try again. I had a panic attack so bad when I tried the first time that I woke up my mom from crying so hard.

That sounds fricking terrifying… what if my game is corrupted now? What if it spreads to my entire PC? I’m too afraid to touch the game at this point. I feel like I’m going to be sick just thinking about it.

I wish there was a way to check if these mods are save - before downloading.
A while ago, I tried to mod a pic on a cushion and even though I followed a tutorial , it messed up my Zois hair colour. I only found out later there was a connection and I still have no idea how this could affect something so totally unrelated.
I never touched mods again. There are a few things you can do right and countless things that can go wrong with this modkit, even for seasoned modders.
From what I’ve seen here at the forum over all these months, mods are the main cause for game crashes and countless other issues and it’s such a hassle to find out which mod caused issues and why.
And while most of these issues happen unintended, what if someone wants to cause trouble with mods and malware/content comes along with them?
I think this is also one of the reasons why we don’t have script mods yet, they already cause enough trouble as is.

Were you guys able to check out the mod? I’ve been too scared to touch InZoi… I tried validated the game on steam but I’m scared the mod will still refuse to go away.
I’ve tried a few related to the “christmas dress for kids” title you mentioned and none of them caused any issues. Can’t say for sure that one of them was the mod you’re referring to unfortunately.
You can back up / copy and paste your savegames to a different part of your setup, then boot up the game and check if anything changed. We’ve just got a new patch yesterday, so maybe things are different now.
