House always shows dirty on City Map

The most interesting part is - I have no collectable objects or gifts displayed in my house… So the dirty problem is not here (not here only?), but maybe in some decorative objects like… from build mode? And here I have no idea what it might be. But the number of objects and furnitures also might be important because clean default houses have no much of these in compare with mine. I downloaded a house from Canvas, gaya apartment 102. And this new apartment has the same problem it is dirty allll the time. No gifts, no collections, it’s not even my family it’s a friendly family I didn’t play much with them. And now they vacuum 24|7 in new apartment :smiling_face_with_tear:

Yes, all houses and businesses seem to also have some mysterious cap on cleanliness, even without collectibles, and always had it. It’s not a hard cap, because 3 zoi vacuuming manically can occasionally make it shoot to full clean, but then next day it would be back to, say, a quarter above centre.

The collectibles just have the double-punch effect of

  • making it even dirtier, including the cap on max cleanliness, and
  • making zoi on AI vacuum manically all day

But yes, in my teddy bear experiment, I started at one of those 100% clean flukes, but after the family members on AI finished throwing all teddy bears away, AND vacuumed like possessed maniacs all day all the while, the house only returned to its usual cleanliness cap of about a quarter above middle line.

So yeah, the collectibles are not the whole story. Not only we probably didn’t identify all thrash objects, but generally… Cleanliness calculation is just more broken than a phone dropped off the roof… into a running wood-chipper :stuck_out_tongue:

Do you maby have other objects in the house that Zois can put in their inventory?
Like laptops for example?
It seems every object that can be put in the Zois inventory gives the ‘dirty’ effect.

Some of my Zois have just moved into my new building, the Skyline Residence in Dowon. So it’s a completely new and clean building. I deliberately didn’t add a little teddy bear because these teddies always end up in the trash . And what had to happen happened.

Visitors immediately went into the bathrooms and cleaned the bathtubs, and my newly moved-in Zois are constantly running around with the vacuum cleaner. The large office hallway has workstations, and there’s actually nothing in the building that the Zois could put in their inventory. Except for a laptop, gamepads, and a few tablets.

Unfortunately, at least for me, that’s not true. I just went empirical and filled the house with more tablets than I had teddy bears in the previous experiment. I even added an 8-seat table outside and filled that with tablets too. The cleanliness bar didn’t even move one pixel. So no, not everything that can go into a bag counts as dirty.

Thank you for your reply. So it might not be the tablets and gamepads in my case :man_shrugging:.

Maybe it’s a new save/old save thing or it only occurs after reloading the save?
(Like the crafted furniture bug. They work fine until you reload the safe and they become unusable)

It’s a possibility, but that didn’t happen with the teddy bears.

Another possibility is that some items were changed in some patch, and it only occurs with “old” objects bought before the patch. Or houses uploaded as a preset using the “old” items.

I tested with common tablets and notebooks, and they made the house dirty. However, the same does not happen with Samsung products.

Well that is an interesting twist. It seems that the game works partially differently for different people.

After some more testing:

it turns out that LennyOgg was correct. The house went dirty after I saved, exited the game, and then reloaded.

Yes I have tablets, and gamepads… Notebook also… oh nooo, is it a “trash” now??? This is so sad…… thank you! But this is really sad I hope they will fix it…
Btw, from some moment Zois started to consider tablet as a real trash, they use it, then don’t put it back, but hold it in their hands, and eventually throw it in the trash. I lost a lot of tablets bcs of it :smiling_face_with_tear:
Thanks god they don’t do it with gamepads. Yet :smiling_face_with_tear:

I see guys u made a whole investigation here! Good job and thank u so much!

I discovered that not only collectable gems, turtles, claw machine toys, seashells everything pretty you collect you can’t display in your home that you find or collect or win.

Not only that but if you display fish in fish tanks in your home it makes your home dirty too so can’t have fish in home either. Also you cannot place your jewel watercan and regular one on the ground at home with the rake since that makes your house dirty too. Just like taking a meal out of the fridge to eat suddenly the house is half dirty until you are done and clean it up. So that means you cannot bake and leave cookies or anything out for the children in the kitchen since you will be constantly nagged by the psycat popup every 2 seconds about a dirty house. Not sure why leaving out fresh cookies for the family triggers the naggy cat but it does.

Also there are decorative items that make it dirty, I built a nice cluttered house with kitchen clutter and little decorative plants and stuff in the house it was filthy. I slowly deleted the clutter one at a time and you have to remove almost all decorative items and clutter and decorative plants and rugs from your home. Then suddenly it will be clean. When I removed all the decorative items from the house it was perfectly clean right to the top.

So if you don’t want a Zoi who dislikes cleaning to be cleaning 24/7 trying to clean the impossible you can’t have anything nice that is just deco in the house since deco is the opposite it does not improve the house it shoots it to the dingy filthy house that can never be cleaned.

Kinda like the tubs and dishwashers you can always clean even when they are not dirty wasting money since I hired a high priced maid to come in and clean all she did the entire time she was there was clean the same tub a million times and leave not cleaning the spots off the rug or anything else not even a different tub there were 5 in the house. The Clean should only pop up when the tub/dishwasher is actually dirty and needs cleaned.

My solution to keep the houses perfectly clean is to never ever have any sort of decorative item in the house. Not sure why decorative, collectable, claw machine toys, gems, turtles earned for both releasing fish and found in treasure hunt special chests, seashells, scuba collections, and actually buy mode decorative items make the house filthy instead of improving the building. Perhaps every Zoi all the time must be a minimalist with no collections, fish or clutter of any sort. Just the basics and nothing pretty, even the curtains make the house dirty and wall towels and toilet paper in bathrooms.

I love the collections and fish so I have to edit the streets and add fish tanks and collection shelves and display them on the street. Hence having a public aquarium and museum of sorts instead of being able to look at them in your own house.

I hope one day this will be changed and Toss Away action is removed from items you worked hard to win or collect.

This!!! Hope this issue is fixed in the upcoming hotfix.

I hope this too since there are so many gorgeous collectables and decorative items that are basically unusable; decorative items should not make a house filthy and turn the house into a dump, it should improve it
