Happy New Year, everyone!!!

InZOI was definitely My favorite game of past year.

I’m writing to report a crash I’ve encountered for the first time. The game crashes consistently after I try change the floor colors. I’ve attached the screenshots for your reference.

Every time I restart the game and try to perform the same action, it crashes back to the desktop immediately without any error message or warning, Also, I am not using any mods.

Please look into this issue as soon as possible. Keep up the great work, and I’m rooting for you!

Thank you.

PIC 1 : when I click Add single paint Area selection.

PIC 2 : It crashes when I click here.

I know this issue but it only happened for one day back in April. You mentioned that you’re not using any mods, does this include CC from canvas? Because I remember I emptied my “generated pictures” / the various pictures which came with user-created canvas clothing. Afterwards no crashes occured and I was able to change the floor color.

In case this solution doesn’t work, please take a look at this guide here, because verifying game files via Steam is a big help quite often: How to verify your game viles via steam
If this doesn’t solve your issue, this guide by the devs could help: Resolving Crash Issues After the Latest Update

Please report back and let us know if the issue is solved or if anything changed

In my case this was the solution:

  1. Go into build mode
  2. Click on any object and open the color editor
  3. On the bottom right side of the menu is the category “my textures” (marked red)
  4. Click on the bin-icon / delete button (hightlighted in yellow in the screenshot)
  5. Delete all of the textures you haven’t used or won’t use again (marked in green)
  6. Go back to your desktop
  7. Verify your files via Steam (you don’t have to but I did it in case any common textures were accidentally deleted)
  8. Boot the game up again and check if the crashes still happen

I hope this helps. After I did that, the crash when changing the floor color never happened again.

What you could also try (and to narrow it down) is, if this still happens in a new save/ on another lot/ in another world.

I did try with a different floor, exactly how you showed in your pictures.
Did you also check if there are files in your mod folders? just in case

If you could share your save file here in this thread, we might be able to check if it’s a game bug or save file related. In case you don’t know where to find it, here’s a detailed guide: How to Send User Files to The inZOI Team (Updated)

Hi @Sadgirl — first of all, sorry for the inconvenience caused by the crash. We’ve confirmed that following the steps you shared could indeed trigger the issue, and we’ve resolved it with a hotfix deployed today.
