[1.9.26] Please bring back interactions for Brainstorm with Kjun in Discord

Recently reactions were banned from the Brainstorm with Kjun chats because of the abuse of 2-3 people, instead of those people being banned after repeatedly ignoring the moderators warns. I believe not having reactions in a brainstorming chat is detrimental to the purpose of the chat, so I made this post.

With slow mode on, we can only reply to other player’s ideas every 15 minutes, which means we can only give our opinion on very few matters, all while the chat keeps going on, burying older ideas.

Reactions are a good way of showing your support or rejection of other player’s ideas without having to reply to every single one.

Reactions are also a good way for the developers to see what ideas are actually somewhat popular and which ones are a niche, or even unpopular.

Most people wont go through the hassle of replying because well, life’s busy, and now that we can’t react, that opinion is lost, making the brainstorms even more of a niche.

Since reactions were taken away because a few players (I’m talking 2-3, for real, it wasn’t even a lot of people) were abusing the system, I’m asking for the team to do something to bring them back. Those 2-3 people should be given temporary bans, as they have repeatedly ignored warnings. Why are the rest of us punished?

And yes I have been told to write a modmail, but I am one single person. Me writing a modmail will do nothing. I will get the same response I got “We decided to not allow reactions because some people were abusing them’“, and that’s it.

If nobody else is bothered by this, I will move on.

But if somebody else is, please write down and let’s do something together. Maybe if all of us write modmails asking for the feature back, they will listen.

POLL: Do you want to have the reactions back in Discord’s Brainstorm with Kjun sessions?

  • Yes, please
  • No, thanks
  • I don’t care either way

Absolutely. Mods asked, mods warned repeatedly. I think, for violations of moderation requirements it’s more logical to apply personal responsibility, not collective. Unfortunately, as Fira proved, a bot that auto‑adds (upvote/downvote) reactions to each post can’t be set up for the thread, so hundreds of innocent users were left with nothing permanently. And most importantly, those kept the flow of discussion within an acceptable course, even though they could’ve just as easily lost it too. As a result, the feedback every 3rd post contains written reactions like “I agree”, “THIS”, which was inevitable.

If nobody else is bothered by this, I will move on.

That’s not entirely true, members used #modmail tickets for appeals, partly because the bot misfired with auto‑purging our posts.

Honestly I feel it is not fair to the majority that follows the rules both here and in the discord server. Why are we all getting punished for doing the right thing while this one person/two people constantly gets special treatment for breaking the rules and ignoring warnings?

Taking away the reactions + failing to enforce the “no wall of texts” rule has detered me from participating as much as I used to, that is for sure.

@GDfromRivendell @itsmechiie7 Sorry I kind of ranted here and then forgot about it, but it seems like reactions are back, which I think is a good news for all of us. If discord members had been using modmail tickets as you meantioned, it’s probably that what caught their attention! I’m glad we got them back.
