This happened to me two days ago and it completely deleted my 40hr save.

HELLO, i wasnt sure where to adx this, but i purchased the game on my steamdeck, it opens up with some tweaks however it crashes when loading into a new world and old save file. is there any chance of having it optimised for steamdeck soon?

    • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT

    • Memory: 48 GB DDR4 RAM

    • Operating System: Windows 11 Home

    • Virtual Memory / Pagefile:

      • Pagefile set to 40 GB

      • Total virtual memory ~87 GB

  • Steps to Reproduce:

  • Please provide the entire save file(s) from the date when the issue occurred: None, I am trying to make a family and I am unable.

  • Details:
    I am experiencing repeated crashes during gameplay along with abnormal performance behavior. This started this morning, I feel like out of nowhere because I had mods in game and everything was fine and running smoothly just last night on 3/19/26.

    • The game crashes consistently

    • CPU usage spikes up to around 90 percent

    • GPU usage remains low and does not scale properly

    • The game sometimes remains running in the background after crashing (Steam still shows it as active)

  • Troubleshooting Performed

    • Clean GPU driver uninstall and reinstall

    • Cleared shader cache

    • Reinstalled the game, verified integrity files, disabled overlays, totally wiped out any or all mod content files etc.

    • Performed disk cleanup and system restart

Additional Notes

  • My system exceeds recommended specifications

  • The issue persists after all troubleshooting steps

  • Behavior suggests a possible API, driver, or engine level issue rather than hardware limitation
