Hi,
@polkacat99 , @Moskou , @GwynnZoi , @davinneca
The Saved folder for Crashes files on Windows is at
%AppData%\Local\BlueClient\Saved\Crashes
@AR_Luna , the instructions in How to Send User Files to the inZOI Team (Updated) should be updated for the path to the crash dump files on Windows, as listed above.

@DivineManifest,
Hello, thank you. I will check on that.
Hello everyone (@here),
Thank you for your files. Can you try again after turning off ‘Frame Generation’ in ‘Options > Graphics’? Please refer to the image. If it still doesn’t work, please tell me!
Smartzoi seems to be working normally with frame generation off
My game still crashed with frame generation off on in-game and from Radeon Settings.
Crashes.zip (24.5 MB) My game still crashed with frame generation off on in-game and from Radeon Settings too.
Hello @polkacat99,
Thank you for your confirmation. We are still checking on the issue, and I will give an update in this thread.
Hi @davinneca and @Moskou,
It seems like the cause of crash issue is different with @polkacat99, so turning off Frame Generation didn’t work. We are currently investigating on the issue.
@Moskou,
Based on our analysis of your crash files, the issue appears to have occurred while installing a Canvas preset.
Could you please let us know which Canvas preset you downloaded?
It would be very helpful if you could share the preset link or a screenshot.
Thank you for your cooperation.
@AR_Luna sorry i didnt know too much about canva to say directly what a canvas preset really is. i’ve downloaded a zoi and some clothes you want to know all that or only the zoi or a specific cloth?
Hi @Moskou, yes please. Can you share which Zois and clothes you have downloaded? It would be great if you could share all of them, but if that’s too much, the recent ones please. Thank you!
I can confirm that my game also has random crashes with SmartZoi turned on, when it used to run smoothly and without issues before. I don’t exeperience freezing or lag, just ctd.
I can also confirm that Frame Gen is and has always been turned off.
in “User\Documents\inZOI\Canvas\MyAppearances” has all this

Hello everyone (@here),
Could you confirm if the issue is still happening? We had a v0.7.3 hotfix yesterday and solved some of the crash issue regarding Smart Zoi. It would be great if you could check on it. Thank you.
already tried yesterday, same crash

Still crashing for me also.
It crashed for me too. I turned off frame generation too and still crashing.
Can confirm this, I’m using a 9060xt and the game runs fine without SmartZOI, but when I turn it on the game crashes.
For some reason I cannot find \Saved\Crashes under BlueClient folder

I just reinstalled InZOI, cleaned all the mods (not using any).
I was playing fine for a few hours with smart zoi enabled (with mods and all), though I noticed my settings changed from ultra to high with today’s update. Once I changed them to ultra my game started crashing again. Though, I always played with ultra settings and with smart zoi before 0.70 update. I’m sharing a test I did, with no mods, ultra settings + smart zoi enabled. The game crashed roughly after 5 minutes of playing (just like before). Note that this is on a fresh install of InZOI.

Checking with Gemini I asked how to debug it, it told me that I could open UEMinidump.dmp file with WinDbg, so I did and followed the instructions. It found that the crash is related to “libcef.dll”, which is supposed to be responsible of rendering browser content in-game.
Gemini suggested the following:
1. Clear the “inZOI” Web Cache
Since libcef.dll handles web content, a corrupted cache folder is the most common trigger.
-
Press
Win + R, type%localappdata%, and hit Enter. -
Find the inZOI folder.
-
Navigate to
Savedand look for a folder namedwebcacheorCrashes. -
Delete these folders. The game will recreate them safely when it next launches.
2. Disable Overlays
The crash involves dbgcore.dll and TraceLogging, which often interact with software that “hooks” into the game’s visuals. Disable the following:
-
Steam/Epic Overlay
-
Discord Overlay
-
NVIDIA ShadowPlay / Overlay
-
MSI Afterburner / RivaTuner (These are notorious for causing
0x80000003errors in UE5 games).
3. Verify Game Files
Since libcef.dll has a checksum warning, the file itself might be damaged.
-
Steam: Right-click inZOI > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files.
-
Epic Games: Click the three dots (…) next to inZOI > Manage > Verify.
4. Update GPU Drivers (Clean Install)
Unreal Engine 5 (which inZOI uses) relies heavily on DirectX 12. If your drivers are outdated or have corrupted shaders, libcef.dll can fail while trying to initialize the UI.
- Use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) for a clean wipe before installing the latest drivers from NVIDIA or AMD.
What I did so far:
- Reinstalled InZOI
- Cleared the webcache, and deleted all .ini files in %localappdata%/BlueClient/Saved/Config/Windows
- Disabled discord overlay
- Reset the settings as to what I used to have: Ultra everything and smart zoi enabled.
So far I’ve been playing for 20 minutes and haven’t had a crash, which is waaay longer than the 1-2 minutes after launching the save I used to get before doing this.
This might help someone, test these steps out and maybe we can help identify the issue.
Good luck!
Update 1:
After testing this, played for over 30 minutes with no issues. It was until I modified the UI when it started glitching out, now every 30ish seconds my game is getting stuck and I notice the SmartZoi widget gets moved from the location I saved it at.
Now I’m testing the following:
- Disabling Steam Overlay
- Installed Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (according to Gemini the game requires it)
- Disabled Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS): This messes with frame generation and in-game widgets it seems (some things look different or are not rendering correctly due to this).
So far: 15 minutes and going, will let you know on any updates.
Update 2:
I’ve not noticed anything weird, almost 40 minutes playing and still going. I’ve noticed however that the flickering lights issue when enabling realistic shadows seems to have disappeared with the latest changes I listed. I’ve had flickering lights with realistic shadows enabled even when not using frame generation. So maybe HAGS has something to do with that as well? - will keep updating this with any updates.
My problem is just Smart Zoi. My settings is always on Custom Ultra since I want to turn ON all the shadows. Frame generation ON. When I try to open my saves I can’t open at all with Smart Zoi ON, it’s crashing. With Smart Zoi OFF I can open it. Tried it on engine version and it has the same output. My game doesn’t lag or anything and it’s always a smooth gameplay. I even use AI Emote a lot everyday smoothly. So it’s just Smart Zoi for me. I tried reinstalling and installing, verifying files, frame generation off, new save, without mods, and with mods. All are having the same outcome, crashing when I try to open my saves.
