Mods: removed and fresh game install done
Hardware: Intel(R) Core™ Ultra 9 275HX (2.70 GHz) NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Windows 11 Home
Error: game crashes before loading
Steps tried: Cleared all caches, reinstalled, removed save data, updated BIOS, don´t even remember at this point I tried EVERYTHING

I just did some research and noticed that, on the day the inZOI patch dropped (v0.7.2 - March 31), Microsoft also released a new, larger windows update. Here’s a link to that: March 31, 2026—KB5086672 (OS Builds 26200.8117 and 26100.8117) Out-of-band - Microsoft Support.
My game worked before updating windows and after, but my GPU is from the 40 series, so I’m obviously less prone to have this issue. Can any of you check this update out (if it’s already available for your system) OR let us know if you’ve downloaded this prior to the inZOI update? 
It’s really the only external influence I was able to figure out so far.
how do i confirm that on my asus laptop? *edit nvm I see it; it’s available for update currently on my laptop
I have it available currently as a downloadable update but should I try proceeding with installing it?
I’m not a developer, so your guess is as good as mine here. It didn’t change anything on my setup, but might not fix the inZOI issue on yours
This confirms that the issue occured without the windows update though, so thank you

I have been having an issue with loading the game after the new hotfix, the game will open for 3 seconds only and crashes, not even loading homepage 
I tried removing mods form the saved files, didn’t work. I tried uninstall the game and reinstall it but also didn’t work..
Save us! I missed my zois T_T please look into the issue it’s been days T_T

I haven’t updated to that one yet, it is available, but I just read coya_nade tried and nothing changed so no reason for me to be in a hurry to hit update.

Yes, but since you did it and ruled it out, as not fixing the problem, no need to keep going down the same road. Bottom line the dev’s broke the game for a certain number of computer player’s and the dev’s need to fix asap. We have done everything imaginable on our end to fix what they broke, with no success.
Now we wait, and twiddle our thumbs and hope they are working on and will find the problem that is keeping so many people from playing. I know we are not the only one’s having this problem, we are just being more vocal about it.
@soulless ik im not saying try again; i was saying that i appreciate @HeinziDerHeld trying to find a way to narrow down the root cause
i agree tho that we need an immediate fix bc tomorrow will make four days of no way to play; i honestly thought we’d have a fix way before this since i reported it as soon as i noticed but now we have a staff member in here merging other affected players in the right direction. hopefully we get something by tomorrow
@Sarsoi for real, we miss playing and haven’t even got to fully enjoy the update before this
