Should inZOI implement a creator controlled feature in Canvas to protect creations from being re-uploaded?

@Starwing You are so sweet :face_holding_back_tears::face_holding_back_tears::face_holding_back_tears: thank you so much for thinking of me, I really appreciate that. I think any normal person with integrity would have that opinion, even if they don’t have involvement in the game. My husband had the same reaction, with some extra commentary that I won’t disclose here -lol. But yes, it should not be possible and it must be stopped. Others have also experienced this and no one should have to go through that.

This is our creative outlet and any creation takes time and effort and seeing that we share it to Canvas for free for others to experience and enjoy - I do, however expect for Canvas to be a safe, fair and respected platform for everyone.

If a creator asks for their creations not to be edited or re-uploaded, then it shouldn’t be possible. In fact, we should be able to choose that as an option.

@LixyDesigns170 You are so right - it’s exhausting and demotivating. So even after reporting the unauthorized re-uploading of one of my creations - it still up on Canvas
 but reading the Canvas content agreement/Canvas Guideline - it clearly states:
“What’s Not Allowed: Using someone else’s work without credit or authorization (including re-uploading)” and even says “Obtain necessary permissions before using someone else’s content” :broken_heart: :frowning:

I was not asked if it could be shared and I did not give authorization (in my description)

You obviously were not asked either and like I mentioned before, I don’t want to see my creations reuploaded by someone else at all (even edited).
I do not want to just be listed as a contributor to my own build - I mean seriously?! That is rather messed up.

- - - InZOI developers need to please have a look at this again - our creations should not be re-uploaded.

Exactly! It’s frustrating because those guidelines are there for a reason, but they aren’t being enforced.

:thankyou: Thank you for sharing those specific points from the Copyright and Intellectual Property section. It’s clear that even if we are creating within a game, our original designs deserve respect and the protection the guidelines promise.
Hopefully, seeing us quote their own rules will push the developers to act! :psycat_paw:

I know it’s different for creators but as a builder, I feel that their current approach of " as long as your name shows as the author" in unacceptable. That’s only one part of the problem. They need to address the unauthorized re-uploads and plagiarism as well. Hopefully, like you said, they will make this a priority.

I read that agreement yesterday, too.

In addition to strong copy-protection for any content a user wants to prevent re-uploading, there needs to be a good way to report infringement because it will happen even after strong protection is put in place, but the company must take more steps to protect the user generated content on Canvas which is a major selling point for the game itself.

On the Canvas Content Agreement, it states:

Copyright Notice

If you think any User Content published in Canvas or any materials or content from Company infringe your copyright-protected work under the copyright law, you may provide an infringement notice to Company’s designated agent as set forth below. Also, to ensure your notice is effective, you must include the following information:

a) Sufficient details to enable us to identify the work claimed to be infringed;

b) Your contact information, including your address and email address;

c) A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed work is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;

d) A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right in the work that is allegedly infringed; and

e) Your physical or electronic signature;

The contact information of Company’s designated agent is as follows:

KRAFTON, Inc.

Attn: Legal Affair Department Agent

28~35F, 231, Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea

Email: inzoi_support@krafton.com

Help Center

It is our policy in appropriate circumstances to disable and/or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.

The support center has an article about how to report as well. https://support.playinzoi.com/hc/en-us/articles/44420873866777-How-do-I-report-intellectual-property-infringements

This is where we can report violations with evidence. https://support.playinzoi.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?null

As far as source files, your local copy of the content would suffice for that proof requirement, along with the url of your upload that is also required in the report.

But it is almost impossible for any player to police their own content to report the Canvas Content Agreement violations.

Strong protections need to be developed ASAP to automatically prevent unwanted re-uploading of content a user wants protected. That system should be as strong as reasonably possible. If someone manages to take more extreme steps to copy protected content, it would end up on us or our supporters to spot and report it.

I decided I’d like to make a video about this since I’m a bit too much under-the-weather to record a Let’s Play for a little while. This kind of discussion topic video might not suffer from me being a bit stuffy-sounding at points (hopefully not many!).

I have less than 250 subscribers, but I am a member of the Krafton Creator Network, which means they might check my channel from time-to-time for members terms policy violations. And it’s extra pressure, even if it only tickles like an unwanted breeze.

I need more subscribers to become a Partner, so anyone who’d like to see me get my voice heard a bit better (and make preview videos & live streams) can click my Linktree link on my profile and locate my gaming channel link.

Anyhow

In my regular videos, I don’t showcase properties because there’s too much to show to fit the general format of the regular showcases.

@VIBES I want to show your stolen masterpiece as I talk about the subject. Can you please send me the link for it to make it easiest for me to get started?

@LixyDesigns170 can you send me a link to your favourite content that got re-uploaded? Especially if it also got more interactions than your original upload.

If you don’t want me to show your content or mention you in my video, I won’t do that. I can discuss everything as a “this is the situation” kind of thing, too. So don’t feel like you have to just because I asked for consent, unlike other people! :joy:

@Starwing Thank you so much for thinking of me, that’s really kind! I’m a bit too shy to be featured in a video, but I truly appreciate the invitation.

@LixyQuinn170 That’s perfectly understandable, especially given the topic. :slightly_smiling_face: :ok_hand:

Seriously though, sometimes I feel crazy constantly checking everything. Like I’m borderline paranoid lmaooo :sob:

Could you share the link to the creation that got stolen from you so I can report it please ?

@Starwing I have given this some thought and I think that we should give the developers a fair chance to respond seeing that they have now acknowledged the situation. This affects many players at the moment and it would be unfair to single me out. I really appreciate your support and willingness to communicate the issue at hand. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@Ace-T I know exactly what you mean :face_holding_back_tears:

Honestly, the dumbest part to me is that even with the reports and the warnings in the comments, there are STILL idiots liking and downloading THEIR posts. It’s genuinely maddening

:sob::sob::sob::sob::sob: I can’t - I get so upset. Sorry @Ace-T - I will report it as well.

Thank you very much. After a few days, the person took down my creation or set it to private. But the download counter had gone up quite a bit before that. So, he took credit for someone else’s work.

If you want to join my other report inZOI Canvas . In this case, a way has been found to delete the legitimate copyright ownership inZOI Canvas

:sob: I will report it as well.

That creation has existed for over a year, this creator simply put on new shoes :sweat_smile: silly me being such an unstable creator that you find 37ahsdg-373egeg3122 completely different things on my profile XD

It’s been a while and I was wondering if anyone noticed any changes or experienced any more unauthorized uploads?
We unfortunately didn’t get any more feedback on this so I’m not sure what the Developers may have done regarding this situation

I wanted to share an update about another case of my work being reuploaded without permission, and honestly this new situation has left me feeling even more discouraged.

The stolen build has already reached the ranking through downloads and likes, and people keep reacting positively to it — even after I explained in the comments that it’s my original creation and shared the link to the real one.
Since more comments only push it higher, I’d truly appreciate it if you could simply like my comment under the repost — the one where I explain that it’s my work and include the link to the original build.

It’s heartbreaking to watch someone else gain attention, downloads, and even followers from something I poured so much time, care, and love into.
I was planning to share a new build today, but right now I don’t even feel like opening the game. I create to inspire others and to give players functional, detailed homes built with passion — seeing them stolen like this takes away all the joy.

I really hope the team implements stronger protection tools for creators. This issue affects so many of us, and it’s becoming harder to stay motivated.
