Should inZOI implement a creator controlled feature in Canvas to protect creations from being re-uploaded?

This is really getting out of hands. It devalues the work that creators are doing, and we should always worry that somebody will just steal creations and make them as their own. It is becoming apparent that this is a feature that should be implemented as soon as possible!

It breaks my heart, honestly. I feel exactly the same - I’m so sorry :face_holding_back_tears:
I wish more people will upvote this topic so that the team can do something about it

I can’t believe 2 people voted no on this topic - it won’t surprise me if it’s the people doing this :sob:
I don’t think the votes are anonymous

:backhand_index_pointing_up: Thank you @DivineManifest

I supported your comment with a like. Does that keep it high in the comments display if it’s liked more than other comments? I hope so.

This situation is incredibly upsetting. Every creation takes a lot of time and effort. Custom zois can take 10+ hours, and builds can easily be 10 times as much time spent carefully crafting every detail.

Updates and new content are great and all, but if they could actually work on restructuring Canvas too and especially handling reports properly, that would honestly be amazing. Because I’m really starting to get tired of content thieves and people blindly liking and downloading stolen posts

I actually have several builds that were nearly finished, that I just don’t feel like finishing and uploading. @LixyDesigns170 I saw that build in the rankings (just like mine the other day) and just so you know, I’m sending some love your way - I did report it as well. It’s very frustrating and demotivating.

It has been about 6 weeks and this creator couldn’t even be bothered to reply nor make it private. Here is the link if anyone else would like to report it as well. inZOI Canvas

@Starwing Thank you so much for liking my comment — it really means a lot.
It doesn’t keep it at the top, but it does show support for the original creator in the reposted build, and that’s what truly matters.
This situation is really painful for creators, so your support means more than you know :custom_heart:

@VIBES Thank you so much for reporting it :heart_hands:. It really is demotivating. I couldn’t upload my last build this past weekend because the whole situation drained my motivation.
Still, I want to keep building because it feels like therapy for me—I really love architecture. Even so, my motivation to share my work on Canvas is at its lowest right now.
Thanks so much for your support, and everyone else in this thread as well. It truly means a lot. :custom_heart: :psycat_paw:

I’m doing very well here, they’ve even mentioned the issue :slightly_smiling_face: , I hadn’t seen it, you’re all fighters :+1:t3:, this is good for all creators and for them to learn to respect other people’s things.

Greetings and keep it up

A very, very large number of players all believe they hold copyright in their Zoi or building creations - but you don’t - Krafton does. Just like the Sims Gallery, they designed Canvas to be a collaborative space where anyone can SHARE a creation for others to download and modify. If people don’t want to share their creation and risk others modifying it - then don’t upload and make it public. The whole point of Canvas is that you go on there, see something you like, download it and either play with it or modify it. If you like what you modified, Krafton let you upload it and make it public. The original author is still credited as the creator. If you really don’t want people modifying your creations, then don’t use Inzoi to make houses or Zois - use Blender and put if up for sale on some commercial site selling assets - then you retain copyright and ownership and can defend your rights in a court of Law.

inZOI is not the Sims so what you are saying is not accurate.
Please read the **Canvas Content Agreement and Canvas Guidelines **
->This Forum and the Discord was designed for active players to help shape inZOI which is not a duplicate of the Sims. The whole idea is to be a new game so we really can’t compare the two here.

Canvas has a ranking system (the Sims does not) so that changes things significantly. This is something I personally love because it keeps motivating creators to create. If you read the entire topic and really understand what are being proposed here, you would see that active inZoi players are asking for an option. Some players may want their creations to be changed and shared and some don’t.
No disrespect, but for you to vote against this as a first time user of this Forum with a copied comment - where you claim to know the inZOI developers intentions, won’t carry any weight.

I’m glad you’re not inzoi, though it’s clear which side you’re on  .
The real creators (those of us who know how and can make our own creations) share them with our users for free and they’re very grateful, polite and encourage us a lot. Has anyone here talked about money??
We really like, I repeat, that our followers download and use our creations. What some of us don’t like, and don’t want, is for opportunistic people to modify our creations to upload them again to their own sites.

This struggle has been active for a long time in other games too, like in The Sims, where creators even on their external websites have to keep putting warnings over and over again, it’s exhausting.

In this post we’re fighting for inzoi to take us into account and give us a solution, so we can keep creating without getting discouraged, something that honest users will appreciate just as much as we do.

We don’t want to do that here. Even though the Sims community has forced many creators (including myself) to do this for Sims - we want inZOI to be the change. Not all new things have to follow in the same steps. :custom_butterfly:

Electronic Arts has always exploited user-generated content. While they had their terms of service state that they own the copyright to all creations, Krafton does not have that language in the Canvas Guidelines.

The Canvas Content Agreement does state that users can create derivative works, but the Canvas Guidelines clearly state that re-uploading without permission is not allowed.

In most situations mentioned in this thread, the re-uploaded content wasn’t modified enough to count as a derivative creation. When it comes to copyright, content that is similar enough to be confused with the original and directly competes with the original is definitely not Fair Use.

Thankfully, Krafton is not EA, and inZOI isn’t The Sims.

Also, this is not true in many cases, and Krafton has made that clear.

The Villa Curtis by Lixy, which was uploaded by Angelo Zoi without permission, is currently ranked 3rd on today’s daily leaderboard.

Dear inZOI AI, or if by chance a real member of the team is reading this: Please take action at last. I find it absolutely unacceptable that there has been no response from inZOI so far. Not even a simple “We’ve taken note of it.” Nothing here.

I find this very concerning. Once again, to inZOI AI or the team: We creatives stand together, take joy in each other’s work, and appreciate each other’s creat.

I truly hope that our concern here and elsewhere will be taken seriously. Thank you

Hello everyone,

After analyzing the feedback from support regarding current Canvas rules (the automated system credits the original author at the very bottom of the page and Krafton legally considers it “fair use.”), I realized we need a different approach. I have just opened a new thread proposing a technical and algorithmic solution to filter ‘duplicate content’ and protect original visibility for both builds and Zois, without needing to wait for a total rewrite of the guidelines.

Since we are all fighting for the same goal here, I would love for you to check it out, share your thoughts, and help me bring this suggestion to the developers’ attention.

You can find the new proposal here: An Algorithmic Solution to Protect Original Creators

Let’s keep working together to protect our community!

I would really like to hold them to these rules/guidelines and I hope they can implement an option for creators soon.
