One Year Later, Our Creations Are Still Being Stolen

Please Address the Issue of Stolen Creations

I’m probably bringing up a sensitive topic for many creators once again: the theft and unauthorized reuploading of characters, styles, homes, and other creations.

It has been a year since I first created a thread about this issue. Other players have continued to raise their concerns, but unfortunately, we haven’t seen a clear solution from the developers yet.

I understand that there are higher-priority tasks, and I truly appreciate how much has been accomplished over the past year! However, I’m asking you to please consider implementing measures to protect creators and their work, especially now that the Genetics feature has been introduced.

One suggestion that was previously discussed was allowing creators to choose whether other users are permitted to reupload their creations. I think this would be a meaningful step forward, giving creators control over how their work can be shared.

Another idea was to assign each original creation a unique identifier or token, making it possible to trace its origin and distinguish the original work from unauthorized reuploads. Perhaps a system like this could be integrated with the existing creator attribution system or even the new Genetics feature.

Please give this issue serious consideration. It has affected so many creators and continues to discourage people from sharing their work, even after an entire year of discussion.

Let’s work together to make the inZOI community a fairer, more transparent, and more respectful place for both creators and players, where people can share their creations with confidence and enjoy the game without worrying about their work being stolen.

Creators deserve to have their work respected and their choices protected. Please don’t let this issue be forgotten again.

I think this is like a piss against the wind. Solutions to prevent leaking or copying don’t exist. Once everything hits the wold wide web you’ll see your stuff spreding lawfully or unlawfully. They could add a harcoded ID into the original content package so the ID would be transfered together with the content and the only way to get rid of the ID would be to rebuild the object or scene manually which would be a copy but one that would need the same amount of work than the original.

But there are other complexities like creations than can use third-party 3D meshes which can’t be traced to the original owner, or creations generated by the AI that could use the same source, and other ‘meh’ creations that are too basic to distinghish from each other.
