Absolutely. No point in downloading a beautiful home only to have bare walls and floors. We download so we can save time and/or experience someone else’s vision - it ruined both of those aspects of the game.
Briefly, an update or so ago, when that happened - it was SO ANNOYING. If I wanted to modify anything, or accidentally delete a wall and not catch it in time, I could not add the wall back to match the rest of the room?? No ma’am, Pam.
Completely ruined the experience and SO GLAD they reverted that change.
(Hope I am not misunderstanding your reply!)
I think - at least from what I have noticed - this only applies to the mesh creations/MODs, not the custom textures. If someone uploads their creation made from all my textures, I would not populate in that section. Right?
Having said that, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT NEW SECTION. Seriously, so happy about it.
I intermittently upload a lot of tweaked presets and/or inZOI MODs with custom textures, and it made uploading them so
much
easier
I thought that would only be applicable if the person sharing was profiting from it somehow? Like via Patreon, etc…
If no revenue, no problem?
Yeah but this would mean that sharing them is illegal.
Or that by putting it on canvas/inside a creation comes with permission ← This one is the most likely scenario that should be considered.
Otherwise, we technically can’t even use it ever, even when making a video on youtube with a custom house.
The artist would complain we’re using their creations in our creations (ie: youtube video) and have it pulled.
It makes no sense then to allow sharing texture with that legal slab you posted.
ah well i dont know about that, i assumed credits are given whenever you download anything from another user, when you download zoi faces etc so i assumed it would be supposed to be the same with custom textures
All good! Custom textures do not show up as contributor, only meshes/MODs - at least that is how it is now.
I think I agree here - context matters.
Personally, I do not utilize others’ textures in my creations I share on Canvas - bc that is where I show my creativity - and only use mesh posted by the artist, to keep my life simple
Actually there are pages which clearly state the following:
or:
So for my understanding here they clearly state you can do what you want with it except trying to sell it as a bundle for example. They even allow commercial use, so you could include the texture is some work which you then would be selling and we are not doing that when uploading to Canvas.
