[1.2.26] Priority: fix bugs

Dear Kjun, I should mention that I bought the game on the first day it was available and have accumulated over 1,000 hours of gameplay. Inzoi fascinates me for many reasons, including your evident passion for this game and the opportunity to interact with you.

However, the game is going through a truly critical moment. There are really too many, too many bugs. Playing it is becoming an exercise in patience (I hope that’s not the purpose, training us in stoicism  ).

I spend almost more time reporting things that aren’t working than actually playing, because in fact the game has worsened in terms of playability compared to the beginning. It’s an obstacle course to finish a day in a Zoi family’s life.

The roadmap is very interesting, the intention to focus on fundamentals is promising, I understand the need to add content to attract players, but the situation for those of us who are playing has become difficult.

I don’t think I’m the only one who believes that now the absolute priority must be fixing all the bugs.

Good work and happy new year

You are not the only one, I also play since March (over 900 hours) and noticed it’s not only the bugs that make the game almost unplayable compared to the beginning, for me it’s also the graphics quality, the camera and so many other things that worked so well in the first months and now not anymore.

I also think the roadmap is too ambitious and with all the new features that are planned, I fear the whole development will be rushed - which will only cause more and more bugs pile up and there will be no time to properly fix them.
Even crucial bugs like the Zois-can’t-give-birth bug took weeks to get fixed.

After more than 1,500 hours with inZoi, I agree with your comments. Bug fixes and genuine playability should be the top priority. The roadmap looks good, but to me, the project often seems too ambitious. It makes no sense to want to attract new players who will leave the game frustrated after a few hours because inZoi doesn’t run smoothly. Scripted mods that could liven up the game shouldn’t be put off for so long either. But for that to happen, inZoi needs to be playable in the long term with the content that is already available. I firmly believe that the developers are all passionate about what they do, and I am well aware that this is Early Access, but that also includes constructive criticism.

As I already commented on @LennyOgg’s latest thread in this category, I really think this could make a difference:

If they’re unable to decide which bugs / system fixes to prioritize, it’d be easy to let the actual players help them figure it out via in-game polls, like Lenny mentioned too.

Mods are another sore point. I only used clothing mods and had to uninstall them due to continuous crashes after the October update. From March to October I never had any crashes, but since October, with the same mods I had before, it’s been constant.

I also believe that offering a game with lots of content but with so many bugs drives away even the most loyal players. And indeed, there are few of us who continue to play, despite everything, and one of the merits is the communication with Kjun and the team, which gives us hope of being heard. And I really hope they listen to us.

But I confess that during this period I feel more like a tester than a satisfied player.

Can anyone please tell the devs to fix all the bugs, and let them know how us players feel, as you can see the game is getting worst if you read all of the posts in this thread.

That’s an important point you’ve raised. You’ve hit the nail on the head. Satisfaction looks different. My game also crashes regularly when I try to return to the game from CurseForge. As soon as the butterfly appears on the screen, it crashes. And yes, I’ve already sent files to the inZoi Support AI. Pre-written responses don’t help. But now I’m not doing that anymore. So much has gone wrong after the update. Zois are stuck in doors, they no longer get out of each other’s way, the sale of prepared food for the sales counters no longer works, and so on and so forth. Someone who is new to the game and wants to open their first business will leave the game dissatisfied because it doesn’t work and they don’t know why. AI-generated gameplay isn’t everything in a life simulation. When game content is added, it should also work reasonably well. Just yesterday, a loyal inZoi player from the very beginning wrote to me that she is losing interest in inZoi because of the bugs and is waiting for an update. The list is long and would go beyond the scope of this article. I really hope that the highly motivated developers take bug fixing to heart.
