InZOI Won't Launch After Hotfix v0.7.2

Hi Everyone and inZOI Development Team,

I’ve been having the same problem since Hotfix v0.7.2. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled several times.

I managed to get a sucessful full load into inZOI yesterday, via the help of Dell Assistant via Remote/Access my laptop (purchased to play inZOI). It is still under warranty. Inside the Dell Comamand Center there is a Chatbot. Chatbot couldn’t help so it handed me over to a Dell Assistant. Thankfully he was a real human.

The following is a section of my Chat through this Dell Assistant:

Dell Assistant:
We are connected, and I am working on it.

Me:
Wow, I can’t believe I wasted a few days trying to sort this on my own.
How did you do that?
Thank You so much!!!

Dell Assistant:
Superb! It was the game files which you have verified from Steam to fix the issue. I hope I was able to assist you today.

After the Dell Assistant/RemoteAccess session was finishjed I began trying my best to recreate a couple of my precious ZOI male and female. My previous shared ZOI in Canvas were lifesavers because with a little tweeking I was able to make them look similar to those that were lost before the Clean Install). See below:

However, the game became glitched… Jairdon was the second ZOI I managed to recreate and Eliana I managed to save in Canvas as I didn’t want to have to try and recreate her again.

Please look at the first photo with Jairdon the screen.

Unfornately my joy didn’t last very long the game became glitched — most of the UI disappeared (this happen to me before after the Update — not sure if it was after NEW Update v0.7.0, the Hotfix v0.7.1 or Hotfix v0.7.2).

As I couldn’t exit the game normally I was obviously forced to shut the game down via the Task Manager and the EndTask route.

I tried to get back into the game but, the same thing happened again as before I hit Play the game starts loading no text begins to appear at the bottom of the screen whilst loading and then loading stops and I’m back at the Steam Library screen.

Please note that at this time I did go in and set to Save to Cloud not sure if I should have done this if the files can be saved locally.

Hotfix I had Mods Cazy Hairs X3 and No Change Clothes Mods.
No Mods in this last Clean Install.

I hope the problem has been resolved already but here’s my contribution of files towards a quick fix!

I was really hoping this would be sorted by now. It’s honestly pretty frustrating, especially seeing everyone else playing while we’re stuck unable to get past the logo screen. I’d been counting on a fix by the weekend so I could finally play.

It’s kind of wild that a hotfix meant to reduce crashes has ended up locking some of us out of the game entirely

Let me tell you why: they always prioritize low-end computers. They even lowered the game’s quality because they prioritize users with low-end PCs. High-end PC users are completely ignored. For example, when the game first came out, the graphics were better and there was no “distance culling,” but later, just to sell more games and improve performance for low-end PC users, they introduced “distance culling” and lowered the graphics quality. I’m very unhappy about this. The current error only affects high-end computers. “Why?” They changed the game’s optimization solely for players with low-end PCs. Frankly, they’re trying to please one group (low-end PC users) while ignoring the other (high-end PC users). That’s all I have to say… @Kjun @Denice

@mxmun20 I think you mentioned me by mistake, right? I’m not one of the game developers :slightly_smiling_face:

But as for the game being optimized for low-end systems - yes, that’s very likely. The thing is, I happen to have one myself. My graphics card - GTX 1080 - isn’t even officially supported, but the game runs very stably for me, as long as I don’t try to max out the quality of visual effects like flares and such. And I don’t complain at all about the game occasionally crashing, because it wouldn’t be fair on my part since my system doesn’t yet meet the system requirements.

But with the new engine version (5.6), which I’ve tested just like everyone else, the graphics got even better - glass flickering, graininess and all that disappeared. So I’m confident that after the update, absolutely everyone will find the game even more beautiful and stable! :+1:

And soon I’ll get myself a new good PC that will meet all the necessary requirements. Then I’ll test the theory about optimization for the RTX 50XX series and the latest generation processors. Though I’m sure everything will work stably. After all, the developers themselves clearly don’t use outdated equipment, but test everything on high-performance computers.

Yes, I corrected it, there was a mistake. But buying a 40 or 50 series graphics card won’t make a difference. Game developers are constantly lowering the game’s quality and optimizing it for low-spec PCs by reducing Inzoi’s features. I bought an RTX 50 series graphics card for Inzoi, but I regret it; the developers lowered the game’s quality. Even the current bug only exists on high-end PCs.

Once again: don’t be discouraged! I’m absolutely certain that very soon you (and then me too :kissing_face_with_smiling_eyes: ) will be able to fully appreciate all the beauty the game has to offer. Let’s just wait for the transition to the new engine! :folded_hands:

exactly and to know days are passing while the players with higher end specs are just left out. it’s really not fair, you’d think an emergency hot fix would have dropped by now

fr this is ridiculously frustrating :face_with_steam_from_nose:

I saved up just to buy a whole new gaming laptop to fully enjoy the game without having to pay monthly for GFN like I was doing on my old laptop.

This issue has been under review for days and I honestly feel like we’re getting nowhere when every approach (forum, email, etc) I’ve tried gets a reply back asking for info I’ve already posted.

I am still happy for low to mid range spec players having optimization to enjoy this game, but having no immediate fix or at least word back on progress for it to let us enjoy our game is just unacceptable :face_exhaling:

Even though I agree with your statement, please refrain from tagging any of the official team members directly if you’re not replying to one of their messages. Unfortunately, this interfers with keeping things organized. Thank you :folded_hands:

I wrote this message and specifically tagged this to make a serious complaint. This isn’t just about the current bug; they’re completely shifting the game’s focus to low-spec PCs while ignoring high-spec PCs @HeinziDerHeld

I might be mistaken, but I thought I read that they’re bringing the original graphics back to the game? Which I hope is true and that they do!

Yeah, I really thought they’d have pushed an emergency fix by now. I wouldn’t mind so much if I could still play, like others who can disable Smart Zoi for now to avoid crashes, but this issue that we with 50 series GPUs are having is way worse and it’s been days

this :100:

if we could have even a temp way to play while this is sorted out it’d be one thing. I feel so left out of the loop rn hearing “reviewed/under investigation” everyday and not even a quick solution to play for the moment. I bought this to play inZOi on and not go back to playing on my 40 series so I don’t want to play on there as it ran super slow even w the update optimization. at this point it feels like the wait is for the UE upgrade that’s planned towards the end of the month and I would hate for us waiting that long to enjoy a game we paid for to work again for us

I agree, very frustrating. Like you I splurged and bought a new more powerful gaminng laptop to handle all my games and in time for inzoi’s release and here I sit locked out because of having a high end computer. lol

If the fix doesn’t come until the end of the month, they may lose a lot of players. paralives is being released soon… even though it isn’t realistic looking, it is a contender.

:megaphone: Still Unable to Launch After Hotfix v0.7.2

Just checking in again; we’re now five days into this issue and many of us with RTX 40‑ and 50‑series GPUs still can’t launch the game at all. The crash happens before the first frame loads, no crash folder is created, and all standard troubleshooting has already been tried by multiple players.

At this point it’s clear this is not a user-side issue, but something introduced in the hotfix. What we really need now is acknowledgment and a status update.

Player Impact (from this thread):

  • Multiple users with high-end systems can’t play at all

  • Issue is consistent across the same GPU class

  • Several players bought new hardware specifically for InZOI

  • No workaround or communication from the team yet

  • Many have already provided DxDiag + logs

We appreciate the work being done; we just need confirmation that this is being looked into and some idea of what to expect next. A quick update would go a long way for everyone affected.

Well, I hope they don’t wait until the end of the month to fix our issue lol! That would cause them to lose a lot of players, for sure.

OMG YALL I HAVE WHAT I FINALLY THINK IS A SOLID FIX THANKS TO MICROSOFT COPILOT!:sign_of_the_horns:

I am in the game right now! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: So happy this has worked and I truly hope it wirkw for all of you; please comment under this post if you still have the crashing issue and I will try to find a solution for you as well until the team can deliver another hot fix!

I completely understand your complaint, but unforunately this thread isn’t the right place for it as it should solely focus on the issue mentioned in the title. It’d be best if you copy your complaint and post it in a new thread (referencing the newest post of Brainstorm with Kjun) or if you post it as a reply to Kjun’s latest post.

I’m really sorry to cause this inconvenience but talking kind of off-topic in this thread drives focus away from the main issue which so many players have to deal with. I really hope you can understand this and continue to voice your complaints and feedback in general :folded_hands:

Coya, I’ve found a workaround that might help. When launching the game, keep the power cable unplugged until you reach the main menu then plug it in. I’ve just tested it and I’m in-game now! Really hope it works for you too :white_heart:
