I took a long time to make this post because I was very reluctant to disable the mods. Applying textures to mods is one of the things I really enjoy; not only do I upload them to Canvas, but my Zois wear these outfits in-game and I hated seeing them all in their underwear.

Before the October update, my game had practically never crashed, but since October 31st it’s been constant: it never crashes during gameplay, but almost every time I return to the lobby, whether from Canvas or from the game.

So I give up. However, I would like the mods to work without problems.

Crashes are always horrible. I’m sorry they happen so frequently in your game.

Did you try the steps mentioned in the official Resolving Crash Issues guide? If you haven’t, they might help a lot.

So your game crashes after you went to canvas in-game and head back to the lobby + it crashes when you did gameplay on an existing save file and head back to the lobby? Do you notice any framedrops, lags or glitches during gameplay or while browsing canvas?

I had done everything except remove the mods (for the reasons above ) and the insufficient memory point, because I never got that error.

It happens exactly as you said and no, I don’t notice anything strange on Canvas or in the game.

Today I played without mods and it didn’t happen, but I’m holding off on celebrating :slightly_smiling_face:.

Before the update in October though I had the same mods and it never happened. The mods don’t show as needing an update.

Even though I don’t play with mods right now, I understand that the issue is a drag for you. At least you can play atm without any major issues. Hopefully all mods will stay up-to-date and you can play with them again soon.
I’ve browsed through the mods you mentioned in the OG post and really can’t figure out the cause of the issue. They’re all clothing items and don’t change any deeper parts of the game’s system.
I’m starting to think the mods aren’t the main issue. Did you check if any of the drivers in your system installed an upgrade lately? We’ve experienced some bugs with newly updated drivers already. If this is the case, we should probably move this thread to the Technical Help category. The dev team will decide that once they check this post.

Thank you.

The only drivers I updated are those for the NVIDIA graphics card.

You might also try adding one mod after the other, always starting the game in-between to see if any of them in particular causes the crash.

I will definitely do that, but by now I’m waiting for the December update, otherwise it’s all useless work :slightly_smiling_face: .

Yesterday without mods it didn’t crash

Mods are life. They simply just are. Great call out @mialuce66 :psycat_upvote:

Love, love, love inZOI and played it a lot without mods to get a feel for the base game - but nothing inspires interesting gameplay like a new hairstyle that speaks to us or custom furniture that I would have never dreamed of myself!

The Creators are talented! New content in CAZ or Build keeps the game fresh, pre-release or not. PERIODT.

Also, I love “shopping” in mods bc it is free :joy: I know I am not alone here. :shopping:

Playing since March, and once I started using mods this past summer, I have rando crashes when trying to start a new game, or go from home screen to CAZ, MODS, or Canvas. It was tricky to get around and a lot of hoops to jump through. Eventually it bothered me enough to post this (so I totally understand you went through something similar before you posted this topic :psycat_sad: ): Anyone else have trouble creating a “net new” game?

Then someone moved my topic to a better topic that I found quite helpful:

:glowing_star::glowing_star::glowing_star: The game crashes after entering the world :glowing_star::glowing_star::glowing_star:

This is the solution that still works for me (shout out to @D1LIRS  )

It can be a GIANT low-key pain in the gluteus maximus to wipe the data out, and reinstall all my mods, BUT this is a pre-release game still and sometimes it just bees like this :honeybee:

Hopefully not forever, bc then my pleasant disposition will become quite salty :salt: but I am willing to do my part as a beta to help realize the vision that will be a fully released inZOI. :psycat_cahaya:

Not saying I don’t mumble several choice “bad words” as I am doing it each time tho, and my hubs knows to give me space  :psycat_upset:

Also, if there has been more info on this that I missed, please lmk bc I am interested :thankyou:
