Hi everyone, have a great start to the week! Has anyone tried the engine update? How do you like the graphics? I have an 8GB 4060 Ti card and would like to know if it will improve anything for me too ![]()
I haven’t paid as much attention to the graphics as the lag and the complete failure of my cafe employees. They continuously started baking or making coffee, then wander around, throw out the ingredients and repeat! ![]()
With the main version of the game, my employees all do their work with very little idle or uncertain behaviour. I’m going to need to post a bug report, but I’m not the only one experiencing lag.
Can I ask you which graphics card you’re playing with? Thanks
It’s Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070
How much VRAM?
Try it out, 8GB 4060 Ti is fine, I havn’t tried the Beta because I’m not playing inZOI right now, but I’ve been hearing it looks better, some players are a little laggy and some players are saying their not laggy at all, if it’s laggy lower some settings and see what works best for you ![]()
I have 12GB VRAM.
It would be more helpful if you try the Beta and at least see how it runs. I know you don’t like the yellow lighting problem, but it’s really important that as many players as possible could at least try the new engine beta to help out the devs.
The reason is: we’re all going to end up with a new version of the game that runs on the new engine. If they don’t have enough information to make it stable (and without bugs it introduces) before releasing the update to everyone, they’ll have lots of unhappy players and a lot harder time fixing any issues that exist.
Lagging, crashing, and other issues that arise for any players are important to discover now before everyone gets this update.
Please, please try it out.
Your new system would be a good setup to test it on! ![]()
I’m running the beta and it is a little laggy, but still an improvement for me. I’ll be sticking with it.
Yes, I’ll try it too! In the meantime, if you have a card similar to mine, let me know in advance because I’m curious
Thanks to everyone
An improvement on the graphics, you mean? Can I also ask you which graphics card you’re using? Thank you so much @LittleBrownBiscuit
Hey guys, just before I share my two cents, here are my specs: Win11 Home; Alienware m18 R2; Intel Core i7-14700HX; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070; RAM 32GB; DirectX 12 Ultimate
I have not experienced any lags or glitches (except for: [Beta Engine 5.6] Glass railings flickering) with the beta engine_upgrade. I kept my settings exactly the same and you can check them out in the screenshots here: inZOI – Graphics & Performance Guide (What Actually Matters) . The settings could be higher, but I prefer very smooth gameplay over specific setting labels ![]()
Hi @HeinziDerHeld, thank you so much for your feedback, could you please also tell me how much VRAM you have?
I’m glad it’s working pretty well, I hope it does for me too ![]()
I’m using the nvidia geforce rtx 4060.
Give it a try, you can always roll it back.
I’m on a 4080M, it’s closer in performance to a desktop 4070 12GB. After the update to next_engine 5.6, I’m running the game on Ultra with Ray Tracing, DLSS Quality, and Frame Generation 2x at 2560×1440 (2K). There may be some stutters, but I slightly lower Texture Quality so the textures don’t overflow the VRAM. And make sure to clear the PSO Cache if something feels off.
UPD
Before 5.6, even on Full HD with DLSS Performance and not even all settings on Ultra the game felt too lagging for me.
The NVIDIA GeForce 4070 laptop GPU has 8GB VRAM ![]()
- clearer ray‑traced reflections (Ray Tracing: Hardware)
- more ray‑traced GI in the shadows (everything looks more colorful in the shadows (Ray Tracing: Hardware)
- the flaring Lumen GI spots on the background houses, “lit” by traffic lights and street lamps, are gone
- realistic shadows finally started working for me (honestly, they just weren’t there before, not even flickering)
But there are still quite a lot of Lumen blotches and ghosting, and the image falls apart in motion
Hi! I’m playing with the engine update, so far so good, the graphics are great for me, performance is great too. At the start I had everything set to Ultra, but then the river’s reflection in Dowon started to flicker. I noticed that the flickering stopped if I turned Global Illumination off, but it would eventually return. So I decided to follow this guide by @HeinziDerHeld to the letter, and everything is running smoothly now!
I had to turn Ray Tracing off anyway cause it made my game lag a bit. I mean, I can turn it on and play with everything in Ultra because I have done it before, but it gets a bit laggy and that ruins the immersion. If I have to choose between graphics and immersion, I choose immersion with smooth performance. But I must say that even though not everything is in Ultra, the graphics look very nice!
I have had some bugs, though, last night I noticed my zois clean a lot, cleaning is all they wanna do, lol, this didn’t happen before the engine update, and the snow disappears in camera mod, too. That’s the two things I recently noticed, but for me all is good with the new engine in general. ![]()
@anamoon63 hi, so you notice a graphics improvement? Which graphics card are you using?
Thank you so much for your feedback, and please report any bugs in the section so they can fix them ![]()
